Didn't realise this game existed until today; just heard it's got a spring 2004 release here in the UK!
Is it gonna be worth the wait or is it just a lame attempt at selling extreme sports to the masses
through a mediocre/poor game?
I'm a massive mountain bike freak - especially downhill & freeride - so I'm hoping for something
special! I remember 'No Fear Downhill Mountain Bike Racing' on the PSX....that wasn't
too bad....is it similar to that (with obvious graphical developments etc)?
Sorry if this has been covered before. Ran a search but didn't really find much!
Cheers..... 8-) :-D 8-)

Based on my experience with the demo version I'd say it's cool and I plan to pick up a copy sooner or later. It's made by Incog so that gives me an idea of the production quality and the reviews have been very good.

Hope that helps a little :)

Since I always go with the underdog, it's my game of the year. I have NEVER played an extreme sports game with a sense of speed like this one. It's so fast, you may actually have to look away some time from nauseau. It's only flaw is that the out of bounds areas are not well marked and you'll find yourself drifting into areas your not supposed to but not knowing your not supposed to.

I have this game, and I have one praise and one complaint.
1. Praise - The game is excellent, the tracks and atmospere are awesome and have to be seen to be believed. Plays like a dream!
2. complaint - I believe when they sat down to plan this out someone said...LETS MAKE THE GAME SO FUCKING HARD THAT EVERYONE WILL QUIT AROUND THE 2nd 0R 3rd LEVEL!!!!...Believe me, just to get past the FIRST STAGE i played it at least 8-10 times! Coming in 1st-3rd is just too hard.

I reviewed it in October for my local newspaper. It was fun and fast, but there were too many obstacles that people might find problematic. It's neat when you zoom over people's heads, but I crashed into trees far too often. Still, it's good, but only if you're into extreme sports. I gave it an A for fans of that genre. However, I'm not a fan, so it just went to the bottom of my pile like most stuff I've reviewed in the past few months. Just don't go in expecting a Tony Hawk clone because it's nothing like that.

It is quite a fun game from what little I've played of it.
Just don't go in expecting a Tony Hawk clone because it's nothing like that.
If you want that, get Freestyle Metal X. It's worth it for human darts :D

I've played all the way through it and loved it. (I didn't think it was too hard btw...). Longest courses ever in a downhill anything video game. They go on forever. Not at all realistic, so as a biking fan, know what you're getting. The tracks reminded me of Sled Storm (PS2 version) for some reason...

Also got to play the demo here, and it was the only demo I really enjoyed on the entire demo disc. I'll probably pick it up at a later date.

I have also played the demo and was astounded by the gameplay so I am going to buy this game when it gets a little cheaper.

I too played the demo and it's one of the few demos I've played more than once or twice...I love this game! I'm not a fan of mountain biking either.
