I write for a little gaming site for fun with a bunch of my friends and i have a new article called "Preserving the Plastic". its goal is show and teach casual gamers various care tips, how to start collecting, game storage and etc. THis isn't an indepth monthly since i don't want to overwhelm the presumed audience. heres a link: http://www.gamecola.net Enjoy
also I'd like some suggestions for topics to cover.i already have a list of what i could write about but i'd to have enough to run through 12 issues minimal. heres what i have so far:
Chord management
Game storage
What makes a game complete
Trade material
Efficient ways of connecting multiple systems
Cartridge cleaning, contacts and plastic shell

nice dude. Hope you get as many reads as you want. I just started writing a little article on games for the school paper (joke of a school though).

What about:
...where to buy and sell vintage gaming consoles
...repairing classic systems
...putting a value to your collection (guides, ebay, etc)
...emulation
Just some thoughts.

You might get some ideas from a very similar column that I write:

Perhaps you can improve or expand on some of these topics. Have fun with your column!

This is sort of off topic, but I suppose you wont mind... My school newspaper sucks, and the only real reason for this is because our editor in chief is a huge moron (seriously) with way too much power. I am A&E editor, and for some reason, she never lets me edit anything(even though I do, after she makes a mockery of the articles with her "editing"). Anyway, for some reason she has stopped letting me write game reviews despite the fact that everyone in the class thinks I should. Most people find my game reviews one of the only reason to read the paper, I am guessing because I am one of the only two people that can write a complete sentence without at least one error in it (see how humble I am :D , by the way, I am typing this fast, so if you see problems, just let it slide...). Any-hoo, I know it is sort of a round-a-bout way of saying it, but you and your friends are certainly a talented group of people, compared to my school anyway (and it is a "California Distinguished School" ). Keep up the good work, and hopefully we will work together at some game magazine :) .
P.S. I'm a senior as well....June can not come soon enough.
