Anyone have any idea what is going on with this title? I heard it was supposed to be coming out in Feb., but no release lists have it and I cant find any new info. Did it come out already under the radar and I somehow missed it (I dont think so because, well, its just not like me to let a game release go un-noticed)?
Also, I heard it was going to be under the Fresh Games label, so will it be budget priced like Mad Maestro and Mr. Mosquito?

When last I was kickin it with my man at Gamestop, he was looking forward to R-Type Final (and R-Type III (GBA) and Gradius V (PS2)) sometime in the future. You haven't missed it.
And I don't remember Mr. Mosquito and Mad Maestro being budget priced until long after their initial release. Maybe we just get tooked up here in Clevo.

You are correct; both games launched at premium MSRPs and dropped only 'cause they weren't selling at all. And judging from the heaps o' copies I see at virtualy every major game retailer, they *still* aren't selling, thanks to Eidos's horrible launch of the Fresh Games "brand."

R-Type Final is slated to ship February 3, according to EB Games (http://www.ebgames.com/ebx/product/240844.asp). That might not be the official release date, but it should hit within the next few months, mustard-colored packaging and all. A recent Official PlayStation Magazine disc included a demo of R-Type Final, so a complete version can't be far away.
I understand the anticipation, though. Outside of those loosely connected Compile games, R-Type is my favorite shooter franchise.
