Do you do this? Go to several different thrifts on a hunt, and not really find a damn thing. So you happen to be at one thrift, and they have a very common NES cart, that you know is only worth a buck, but they are selling it for $2.49, and you buy the damn thing anyways?

It's kindof like you just want to take something home from the thrift, just so it isn't a complete and total loss.

Anybody else do that?

I can't tell you how many times I've bought a Genny or Saturn game, that I could have gotten at GameCrazy cheaper with the buy 2 get 1 free deal. But it's just that I feel like I've wasted all that time if I don't bring something back with me.

Yea , today I went to 4 thrift stores and not a dang thing.

So at the last one (Goodwill) I bought Metroid for the Nes for $2.49
even though I have 9 or 10.

I JUST WANTED SOMETHING !!!!

That's why I don't really go to Thrift Stores anymore. I never find anything. Anyone ever actually find any console games at the Waukesha Salvation Army?

Is this why you always have everything people ask for in B&S? LOL ;)

That happens to me often. I buy NES games so the trip isn't wasted, but I hardly hook up the NES because I'm too lazy. I need to hook up the Genny to see if these games I bought over winter break work...

Not really, though I'll look around to see if I find a game related item some where while looking for other practical things I could use. Usually I just leave.

I wish I had the willpower to just leave. For some reason, I find it hard to leave without getting some little piece of crap. Even though I'm likely over paying for it. I'm always looking for AC Adapters for systems, just to have as backups. I never find any SNES power adapters though.

Yeah...I'd stay out of those Waukesha thrift stores, pretty much a waste of time. Most Wisconsin thrifts are dry as a bone....yep, nothing to see there folks, that's right, just keep movin' along...

And don't throw me in that briar patch either ;)

Oh, I do that. Sometimes its good, got enough mario kids meal toys to make a cool display shelf and enough old NES consoles to make a coffee table. Unfortunately I also will pick up anything a little different or new and cheap

I have a good start on being the little old lady down the street with 25 cats and junk piled floor to ceiling except for a path to the bathroom.

Of course non of it is actually junk ;)

I do that ALL the time. It's sad really. I'm like a junkie.
"I haven't had a hit in weeks.... $5 for this loose, label-less Genesis cart? OK."

As do I. I've found myself buying things like fighting sticks for a Saturn (which I don't even own!) for $7.99, just because I couldn't find anything else, and it seemed like a decent deal (if I owned a Saturn anyhow)

I just don't like to come up empty handed. It is a sickness. It has to be; I feel even worse after finding a great/huge find. The next time I go out, I expect to find something great again, and it's just not out there, so I end up buying junk. :)
