I have heard a lot f people, myself included, go over just what the BEST games are for the NGPC. Which got me wondering: No system in history has a perfect record when it comes to great games, so just what are the worst games for the NGPC?

My vote goes to Melon-Chan's Growth Diary. It's an import title, and entirely in Japanese, but even so I haven't been able to do anything with it. It seems to be a sort of Tamagotchi title, but I really just don't get it. And since I can't find a game that I have played and understood less and found less playable, the Diary gets my vote for worst game.

Anyone?

I've read very little good about Dive Alert though I've never played it.

It's easy to say that Melon Chan is the worst game, but just because you don't understand japanese kinda makes it a difficult argument.

Yes, Dive Alert more or less sucks but it's not E.T. bad. When you only have 30 US releases and about 43 UK releases (including the B&W ones), it's hard to have really crappy games, especially from the old SNK.

My vote is for Baseball Stars. The AI is so bad that it actually physically upsets me. And the fielding is an utter joke. I don't really like Fatal Fury either, but again, it's not terrible.

Definitely, an not even arguably, the worst games for the NGPC are the friggin' casino ones. All I have to ask is "Why do we need so many versions of the same crap?" You could add Neo 21 and Neo Cherry Masters Color to that category which gives you your crap US/UK release. Just a damn waste of ROMs and plastic.

Yeah, the casino games would get my vote as well. Americans as lucky, though, because they were spared all the horrifying pachinko games that Aruze had released in Japan. Pachinko... brr.

True, but I'd say it's more of a testament as to how good the NGPC really is; I have to resort to a game that I don't understand, mechanics or language, to give an answer to this question. But it's mostly about how it feels, like it's a sort of Tamagotchi-style gameplay (which I remember buying for the Game Boy).

It's not the worst, but Baseball Stars has to be the most disappointing, especially after SNK's stellar jobs on the NEO*GEO and NES versions.

Hunh. I absolutely loved Baseball Stars and spent weeks playing it.

My vote hands-down goes to Dark Arms - Beast Buster 1999. That is an unplayable piece of junk. I was ecstatic to find it in the store for only $5.00 (along with Shanghai) after a long drought of only having five games, and I brought it home and tried playing it... couldn't understand it. I read through the instructions... still couldn't understand it. I kept playing, expecting it would start to make sense...

Um... nope. Does anyone here understand this game?

While I wouldn't go near saying its the worst game or even a bad game, Faseli was the biggest disappointment of a game to me. After hearing about how people were willing to pay $150 for it, I was super-happy to get it for about $20 not so long ago. It's all right, but it definitely isn't something overly special IMHO.

Faselei is great imo, but it depends if you're into turn based strategy mech games ;)
