Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles Gamestop Promotion

I haven't seen this posted around, so I'll go ahead and start this:

If you put a $10 minimum deposit down on Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles you can get a free Nintendo brand Gamecube/Gameboy Advance link cable.

Of course, the $10 goes towards the final price of the game.

Nintendo is promoting this, so I don't know who else has this besides Gamestop. EB, TRU, anyone with a pre-order system might, so just check.

Btw: for those who would get free cables and get your deposit back...I'm sure they will ask for your deposit reciept & the cables back. ;) I don't want to see 2 pages worth of Gamestop/EB/TRU/CC/Best Buy sucks threads later.

Can someone who works at Gamestop confirm something for me? I saw the sign in the store and thought "sweet, beats the hell out of those cheapo cables I've been using for Pac Man Vs. Anyway, I reserved (and yes, with full intent of picking it up when it hits) but they didn't give me the cables. I asked about it and they said "you get the cables when you pay for and pick up the game." Is that how it goes? I just want to make sure I'm not getting swindled here.

I don't work at Gamestop, nor did I reserve the game there, but at EB they gave us the cables right away when we plunked down a $5 deposit.

Curious....I plunked down $5 for this game back in August, when it was susposed to come out last year.....wonder if I went in now and asked for the cable (at EB) what they would say.....I allready HAVE one, but like I said, I'm just curious. :D

just buy one of the tommo 3 pack games for $12.99 and one of the $5 games and there you go

I cant remember which member did this but they bought 4 cheap non-sport games and came back to the same store 5 minutes later and they wouldnt do the deal ( big surprise ) Just dont do that. I dont want to see the whole EB/ Game Stop sucks thread again :P

AFAIK, there is a discount key in the POS that allows us to mark down the price of the cable for giveaway in this promotion. We got a large number of them in a shipment, so I'm figuring that's what they're for.

I've been giving them out with reserves, and I'm 99% sure everyone else is, as well. Or at least they're supposed to. :)

that is exactly what i'm afraid of. i would double check with the store first before i did anything. but i guess that doesn't make anything 100% either.

I just went into EB and verified that they had this promotion (and they do).

I also verified that they were doing the trade 4 non sports games deal. They said yes. I then asked if there were any other exclusions besides sports games, and they said no. So I went over to CC and bought 4 cheap ps2 games ($5/$8 each). I get back to EB about 30 minutes later and apparantly the deal wasnt running anymore and the games wouldn't work anyway. I was pretty close to exploding at the guy but I held back. He said he would look into it and to get back to him on monday. If I still cant do it there will be hell to pay :angry:
