Ok, these don't show up very often (never, ever on ebay). What do YOU know about this one? Units produced? Whatever? Any info appreciated.

Nintendo made a couple of "pong" and breakout type devices.. I haven't seen that one but some of the ones I've seen from Japan on Ebay went for around $100

Yes. Pre-Nintendo units:

Tv-game 6 (two versions with different colors and slightly different boxes)
Tv-game 15 (two versions with different colors and slightly different boxes)
Nintendo Block (Breakout)
Sharp licensed made Tv-game 6
And the unknown on the picture.

Here is what some mentally ill paid for a Block recently:

Ugh. Do you happen to have that auction saved as HTML? I'd like to get ahold of the info.

Anybody know the model number? Good bet the manufacturer is Nintendo, but beyond that I can't say much. It looks like it belongs in Europe, except I'm guessing that's a Japanese house due to the Japanese games in the background...and the odd looking drink bottle...

At least I know how much it went for. If I see another one of those, I'll let you know.

Okay, but it was back when ebay was still fairly new (not so many psychos).

Judging by the box, it appears to be Othello (they did produce it for the arcades, too).

You're absolutely right. Found a Japanese text on the net saying the exact same. It wasn't a major hit so to speak. Seems to be out on the market for a very short time.

There was a seller with a bunch of those a month or so ago... most went for under 100. The 450 guy is sick.

Dp bought an old Nintendo last year on ebay for the museum. It was orange i think. It might have been older than that one. You'll have to ask him for pics.

Probably a Tv-game 15 (one of two colors)

About the $450. I mailed an American (yes, one of you guys) :) And he accepted the same price for mine which was in better condition. Now I can buy food again :)

Wish I could sell my block pong(same one) for $450 !!!! LOL Is the final concensus on that NES item that it is some kind of "othello clone"? I collect NES stuff and I have never seen anything like it.

I have a Nintendo Light gun game from 1976.

You set up a little projector and shoot ducks on the wall.
I have never had the heart to set it up and try it as I picked this up on eBay new in the box. I paid close to $200 I believe.

I bought it for one reason.

Its called Duck Hunt. How cool is that.

Yes, I've seen it for many times. If you want a used one, just let me know so you can try. It's quite interesting. Nintendo made a few lightgun games at the early 70-ies. Where did they go for the technology? Yes, Magnavox since they already had the Odyssey rifle.

Well, what about the Hotel Famicom (http://assembler.roarvgm.com/FAMICOMBOX/famicombox.html) for that matter?

If you're referring to Famicom Box (both Nintendo and Sharp version) they are very common compared to this one. Own two and seen about 10 times.

There is a little bit of info in the book Game Over on Nintendo's pre NES systems. There used to be a site also that had a ton of pics and info about these machines.

Meh.

Remember the name, perchance?

I'd have to say that it seems the Coca-Cola/Nintendo TV-Game is quite sought after, and there are a number of variants of Sharp's Twin Famicom units. The Orange/"Fire" STF (heh @ acronym) is quite a nice one, and the AN-550 "Sharp Titler" is also very expensive."

The Hotel Famicom reminds me of the "Hotel Neo Geo" which I've seen go for ridiculous amounts of money on eBay and Yahoo japan. Hotel anything tends to go high.
