Hey, I'm going to start checkin out the local thrift stores (goodwill, salvation army, pawn shops) my question is, since I'm no expert on value of games and I don't have a guide to carry around with me, what should I consider a good deal for just about any game (non-sports) for the following systems?

NES
SNES
Genesis
Saturn

Thanks,
Mike

I make $3 my limit on any thrift store game for Genesis, NES, and Super NES, except for Dreamcast games, which I've only seen once (Sword of the Berserk, which I snapped up at $4). The reason I chose $3 is because I know if it's older, I'm less likely to hook up one of the systems. However, if I found something really rare, I'd probably be willing to part with the cash to buy it.

NES and genesis $1-$3 each
SNES and saturn $2-$4 each

Just my personal average prices I'd pay.

When it comes to loose common NES carts, I've found that most aren't even worth a buck. So I have a hard time paying more than a buck. As for Genesis, non sports games, I would say a buck too.

Basically $1 or $2 is a good guideline.

Sometimes I see Genny or SNES or NES games selling for like $5 at a thrift, and I just look at those ones and say, No way. Now, don't get it wrong, if I happen to know that it is a game that is worth 20 bucks, then I will definitely pay $5 for it.

But I think you are better off being more selective. $1 is the magic price. And what is even better, is when you get them on 50 percent off day. I'll buy just about any non sports game for 50 cents.

IŽd pay 3 US for most non-sports genny games. And a little more for RPGS!!!

I guess none of you have seen the prices that FuncoLand (now GameStop) wants. LOL

Well I picke dup a bunch of nes carts at gamestop for a buck a piece during the buy 2 get one sale, before I decided I wanted boxed only. Now some of the more popluar stuff (ninja gaiden etc) they wanted 7.99 which I have seen at other stores. I wouldn't pay it unless it was boxed. But some people wll pay it because they never see em otherwise except on ebay
