Anyone here replay games? RPGs or long adventure games, specifially? I guess action games aren't much of a feat, as I bought Kunoichi and beat all 3 difficulties to unlock the costumes/characters, and am playing through normal again.

I just had the itch to replay through some stuff. I had a pretty various Sunday afternoon (in which I literally played games all freaking day -- havent' done that in a LOOOONG time). It consisted of:

NiGHTS: I beat this years ago, but just like crack, had to come back to it.
Super Mario Sunshine: I have no clue why, but just popped it in and oompf --- 3 hours gone
Record of Lodoss War: This is my 3rd time to START this game ... I've yet to beat it. I'm going to do it this time... using a walkthru just in case I get stuck (again).
Zelda: Majora's Mask -- finally getting around to playing this. The one Zelda game I wanted to play but never did.

I've had the hankering to throw in some older RPGs as well, but haven't committed yet. Too many I've not played yet.

If I could beat them the first time, I probably would play through again to unlock the extras in some of the newer titles. As it stands now, I have too many that I haven't even played for the first time yet...

The only games in the last 10 years that I have replayed and beat are the Looking Glass Studios / Ion Storm line of games (Thief, Thief 2, System Shock, System Shock 2, Deus Ex - I've played through System Shock 2 at least 3 times, probably more like 4 or 5, sometimes with friends) as well as the original Unreal. Maybe I played Mega Man X3 twice, I think, and maybe SMB3 twice as well. I think I've also finished Zelda 3 twice (haven't completed Ocarina of Time yet but I'm close).

Long RPGs I have a hard time even completing once, let alone multiple times. I've never even beaten Super Mario World because it's so long.

I'm thinking about taking Freedom Force for a second spin and maybe Metroid Prime and Tron 2.0 - but I have a huge list of games I own and haven't defeated that I'm always working on. Right now it's DX2: Invisible War, Ocarina of Time, WC3: Frozen Throne (I must be a glutton for punishment because I'm playing it through on "hard" and it's...HARD), and Chrono Cross.

Actually I replay everything I have. Some games you can replay and still get enjoyment out of them.

1. Ace Combat 4- I replay it too get a better grade.
2. Grand Turismo 2- After I complete the game, I erase my save game and start all over again. :D

I have quite a few games that I've not played but want to. I'm going to try to knock them out of the way, as there are 4 games coming out next month that I've already prordered. Psyvariar 2, Gain Ground, Gungrave OD, and something else I can't put my finger on.

I guess everyone has the same problem these days. I remember when I was a kid, I'd replay stuff all the time b/c I only got like 1 game every 2-3 months. I'm glad I didn't know then that I'd have too many games to play -- I'd have never enjoyed the time it took me to get here.

Perhaps I will take another swing at Final Fantasy VII someday (it ought to run much more smoothly on my current system than it did in the past), or maybe Chrono Trigger. But I've just got so many games on hand that I never got around to playing that it's going to be a while before I start replaying games.

I can't tell you how many times I've replayed a lot of my games, but most of them are action titles and shmups, rather than long quests.

Most recent example was Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic (Xbox). I also beat Jet Set Radio more times than there are days in the week, and I still have the itch to beat it again today.

RPG's I love to play:

Landstalker - 3 times played, 0 times beaten. GOTTA fix that someday.

Final Fantasy II - 4 times started, 0 times beaten (see above)

Final Fantasy III - 8 times played (!!!), 5 times beaten. One of my favs.

Final Fantasy - 5 times played, twice beaten

Phantasy Star IV - 4 times played, once beaten

Legend of Zelda - over 15 times started, never beaten. MUST fix that...

Final Fantasy VII - 4 times played, 3 times beaten.

Wild Arms - twice played, twice beaten. Underrated RPG

how's that?

Recent games that aren't quick-action games that I've cleared more than once:

Jet Set Radio (3 times or so)
De La Jet Set Radio (twice)
Jet Set Radio Future (2-3 times) seeing a pattern?
Shenmue (1.5 times... got sidetracked)
Zelda: Ocarina of Time (twice)

Just wish RPGs didn't take 40-50 hours to finish. :(

I guess I replay just about all of my long games including FF7. But I have a little trick when it comes to games that have impossible levels ones which I barely past the first time around. I keep the save game if possible for example there are 2 levels in Pac Man 20th ann. PSOne Where I swear it took me months to figure out. Even now I still avoid those levels everytime I replay the entire game. The same also could be said for Beyond the Beyond PS1.
