Gallop Racer 2003 or G1 Jockey 3?

I've been itching to play a good horse racing game lately and I hear these are the two big ones that are out. They are both a bit pricey though (on ebay they usually go for $40-$50 used), so I can only afford to get one of them. Has anyone here played either? If so, can you give me your opinion on it?

I don't remember which one it was but I remember seeing a fan website for the game. They have these leagues where they participants email their horses to the commissioner via a Dex Drive, and have weekly races. That sounds kind of fun and I'd like to join if I get the game. Anyone know anything about that?

I have never played G1 jockey. But Gallop Racer is a great damn game. Seems Jockey one is more running around sorta role playing to sim, where GR is more sim. i just had the psx and 2001 versions for sale in the b+s forum. but 2003 has by far beat those out.

They already have GR online in japan, If you don't wanna spend the money now, wait until that one gets over here. Thats the only thing lacking for a perfect game. still worth the money as it sits now.

You mean they are actually going to release a obscure but fun Japanese title here in the US? That's gotta be a first. Thanks for the tip, Chunky. I think I will wait for that one.
