So I've just purchased a PBC for my Genesis, and I'm looking into buying some SMS games for it. So far, I've imported Sonic 1, but that's the only game I have. Unfortunately, I have no experience with the SMS. Never played it as a kid... only heard things about it... mainly Phantasy Star related. So, besides Phantasy Star, what are some of the best games released for the SMS? You guys seem to know yer stuff, so can ya help me out? :)

Phantasy Star, Zillion, Ancient Y's Vanished: Omen, arcade ports. Stuff like that.

Here's a good list to start you off, my personal favorite (in my top 10 of all time actually) is Castle of Illusion staring Mickey Mouse

Thanks for the help guys. :)

I think I may just have to get Y's and Montezuma's Revenge.

To me Phantasy Star is HARD. There are mazes in that game that loop back on themselves. Frankly, I never finished the game I started more than 3 years ago simply because it was too impossible to finish.

Y's is a good game. A bit tricky with some bosses, it wasn't until I got a copy of the walkthrough that I knew what level to do first. It's a bit like Zelda you pretty much left to your own.

Double Dragon, I may have said much about this game. But it is THE BEST version of the arcade hit.

You can also try Kenseiden, Rampage, Rastan, R-Type and Spellcaster

3 replies and Wonder Boy III has yet to come up. I am shocked and appalled.

ALL the Wonder Boy's are good!

I've been playing alot of R-type lately

GOOD game, but it gets REALLY hard towards the end.
