I have noticed an absurd number of un-opened Arari Lynx games on ebay for cheap. Was this system just a complete bomb or am I missing something? Also, there seems to be an excesive amount of broken Lynxs avaliable. Do they break easily?
As I am interested in a Lynx, about how much should I pay for one?
Thanks,
-james

Yes, yes, I paid $40 for a efurbished one with 3 brand-new games (At CGE :D ). I'd say $40 sounds goodfor a Lynx 2.

I think that Atari just went berzerk mass producing a few titles. Luckily for gamers, they are some of the best titles on the Lynx IMHO.
Lynx's themselves usually go around $35-$45 from what I've seen. If you want to pick one up with a bunch of games from me (click on the "goatstore.com" link below) PM me and I'll set you up with a deal :)
I would definitely suggest getting one for Robotron, Joust, Crystal Mines II, XYBots, KLAX and Chip's Challenge. I actually bought mine for Hydra (only home version, and I don't much care for it on the Lynx :( ) but I've been extremely happy with it ever since :D

The system wasn't teh best sucess. It came out around the same time as the GB, and even though it was better, it was to big. Fun system though. I got it (sealed) with like 12 games. $60 bucks, there pretty cheap. :D

It is a great system. It is a little on the heavy side, but it is still worth getting. I got mine off of eBay for about $40 shipped. The system was boxed and came with like 2 or 3 games (I cant remeber). I then picked up one of those eBay 6 game lots for like $10 + shipping. Make sure you get Chip's Challenge (One of my all time favorite games.)

I think the real nail in the Lynx's coffin was the lack of third party games. While the Gameboy had Super Mario Land, Megaman, Castlevania, and many others, the Lynx really only had games like Paperboy, Xenophobe, and a crummy Gauntlet sequel. It had lots of good arcade ports, but most of the ports were of games that were already getting a little old. When you consider too that new games came out a month or two apart, it was really hard to root for the Lynx over the Gameboy, even if it was a superior system.
Personally, I love the Lynx though. There are tons of lesser known games for it that you often can't find on other systems. My favorite game by far is Shanghai... some other good ones are Joust, Rygar, Toki, Ninja Gaiden III, Malibu Bikini Volleyball, and Chip's Challenge.
