Why do I have to have a checking account to sell on ebay?

I would like to sell some stuff on ebay but it won't let me skip the checking account section and enter my credit card for fees to be taken out! Why?

I haven't had a checking account in probably 15 years and don't want one. I pay in only cash or charge. Does anyone know how I can sell on ebay with a credit card?

I guess I can do ID Verify but it will cost me $5. You would think having an account for a year with a lot of feedback and a credit card on file would prove who I am. Guess not.
