Or was there and I missed it? I loved this game on the N.E.S. and a 3D one in the same style as Maximo would be awesome I think!

Did anyone else like this game?

There was one for Game Boy.

Really? Cool. Was it an old black & white one or a GBC one?

old black & white one. I have it, missing it's label though. I took the Big N's advice in the "Game Boy Camera Guide" and created my own using the Game Boy Camera and Printer...too bad they didn't mention that within a few weeks of use that the sticker would wear unreadable.

The old black & white.

It's "Kid Icarus : of myths and monsters"

Which ones are you referring to?

Mario, Mario Kart, Zelda, to a lesser extent Metroid (Because Fusion is awesome)

I know lots of people like the N64 and GC version of these games, but I don't

Well, N64 Mario Kart is pretty cool.

It would be good only if done well. And Nintendo can do things well.. most of the time. But we'd have to see. I don't see much of a market craving for an Icarus sequel right now. I'd like to see a GBA remake, though. But not at full price.

Does it really made the game better just by throwing a name such as Kid Icarus on it? What I mean is if they took an old game and totally remade it with modern 3D graphics, changed the gameplay to take advantage of the 3D engine and then added better sound effects then what really makes it a Kid Icarus game other than the title? For that matter you can say that there already were plenty of sequels, they just had different names. Look at Shinobi for example. Was it really a Shinobi sequel or just another game with a Shinobi title slapped onto it?

Supposedly there was one in eurpoe, but nintendo pulled it like the day after it was released because an enemy looked like gentials.

Are you seriously of the opinion that Mario 64 has somehow done wrong to the Mario franchise?

So let me get this straight. Europe gets an exclusive sequel to Kid Icarus, with no magazine coverage or previews or advertisement or official word from Nintendo, and it gets pulled after one day, therefore becoming (I'd think) the most INSANELY desirable video game collectible like, EVER. Rather than fix the cock (I'm assuming that's what 'gentials' means) enemy, Nintendo throws away millions and denies the game's existence, no website, magazine, or person I know has ever heard of this game, but someone's eigth post on the Digital Press forums has this world exclusive info?

That's fascinating.

Actually, I have seen several sites that claim there was a very unfinished 16-bit proto, but I never looked into it.

Umm,I didn't make it up, if that's what you're implying. I actually read this somewhere like 10 years ago. I don't know whether it's true or not, but....

I thought that happened to the original NES game, and Nintendo just took flak for it.

At least I remember a site that made fun of the penis enemy.

Of course, I might be off a bit.

Where did you read it? Let me guess, you don't remember.

Anyways, I thought it was great that Rygar got a long-awaited sequel last year (or was it the year before?). I don't think it's that big a stretch to possible seeing a sequel to Kid Icarus on the Gamecube. Not only does Icarus have mythological appeal, but it was a successful NES game. So much new shit gets put out every year that I would think it would be a good gamble on releasing a game that actually already has a following. 28 Mega Man sequels can't be wrong!

I for one would very much like this. I would probably expect something similar to Zelda, more focused on action than on puzzles, but with Wind Waker's art style.

As for Butta: Yes, I agree that the quality of Nintendo's latest games in their classic series hasn't been what it could be, but I feel that's due entirely to the strain of making a game on modern formats. It's not as if the old hands at Nintendo forgot how to do stuff right...they just had to spend less time on more work.

That said, I have the strange feeling that Wind Waker really wasn't so much bigger than the N64 games except where it comes to graphics and music. The game's biggest fault is that it relies too much on crappy maze style puzzles (like the forest tunnels maze in the Lost Woods from Ocarina of Time), some of which you don't even have to puzzle your way through! Pretty much the last insult, though, is that the Ghost Ship was really, really weak. :(

Add my name to the list of people that thought Mario 64 wasn't very good. I enjoyed it for a while, but it didn't hold my interest long enough for me to even get halfway through the game. Yep, Mario 64 did definite damage to the Mario franchise in my eyes. I haven't played Mario Sunshine yet, so I cannot say if it has halped or not...

Yep, Mario 64 did definite damage to the Mario franchise in my eyes. I haven't played Mario Sunshine yet, so I cannot say if it has halped or not...I loved Mario 64. Every damn bit of it. The first time I met Bowser and had to figure out what to do and the first time I threw him in the Lava, it was awesome! When I beat the game and finally got all 120 stars, I knew this was a good game.

What did ruin it for me was Sunshine. And Nintendo's seeming reluctance to create a NEW Mario Bros. game that incorporates all the good Mario elements we've grown to know and love (? blocks, bricks, moving lifts, all the enemies that never made it into 64.) but in 3D. But NOooo.. Nintendo doesn't WANT to do this. I emailed them before Sunshine came out pleading that they come up with something better. I got a reply from someone who told me to wait until Sunshine came out then Judge it. Well.. it's out. And I've judged it. I stand by my complaints.

I can see them doing a remake, but I'd expect to see a gba version rather than a 3d cube version.

to be honest, I never really liked the original but its a game name that almost everyone remembers
