Any interest in a NES Club?

Since I've gotten a GBA Flashcart, I've experienced resurgence in NES gaming. I play little else now. I play them on my GBA, GC, computer and on a NES unit.

Is there any interest in having a NES Club similar to the MAME Club? There certainly isn’t a shortage of games to choose.

I'd be more than willing to do all the grunt work involved if I can do that without Mod rights.

What do you folks think?

YIPPIE! Reserve a space in this club for me! It would be blasphemy for me not to! After all, the NES was my first console ever... there's this videotape somewhere in my house of me playing Low G-Man when I was two years old. Awwww... :)

Assuming things work the same was as the MAME Club, what would happen is that everyone's names would be compiled into a list, and every week the next person on the list would choose a game, a new thread is started for that game (Hopefully with a download link for those who don't have it. I'd be happy to host some if necessary), and we all play the game and discuss it... what's good/bad/fun about it, any issues with emulation, high scores, how long it took to beat (or how far you managed to get), and basically anything else people feel like saying about it.

Of course, you wouldn't have to be a member to comment on games (feel free to join the MAME Club threads!). The idea here is to expose people to relatively obscure games that they may not have heard of before. There are a lot of gems out there that no one ever really hears about until we bring them out into the open with something like this.

There's no reason that this has to be identical to the MAME Club though... if you guys can think of any ideas that might improve things, feel free to make suggestions.

Well if thats what we do, then im definitely in. It wouldnt have to be just MAME stuff though, right? Im not that into MAME at the moment, but i have a good amount of NES games and such.

Zektor, the mod of the emulation forum runs the MAME club I believe. If I wanted to join I'd either PM him or post in one of their weekly posts that I wanted to join. I'm sure they'll be happy to add you.

Check the first page of this thread... I gave a pretty good overview how the MAME Club works (except how to join... just ask zektor and he'll hook you up). The NES Club would likely operate very much the same.
