Check out Insert Credit (http://www.insertcredit.com), where their exclusive CES coverage (http://www.insertcredit.com/features/ces2004/) was written by yours truly! And then post things about it and ask me questions, because that's what keeps me writing.

For further enticement, this article features dinosaurs and beer.

That's one strange...dinosaur.

Anyhow, would you explain the use of the Silly Putty "In case we run into any unreadable fine print."

I'm very happy to see you included the "Cowboy Hat Foam Stamp," but I'm flabbergasted that Pix[b]ie[/i] Stix has been misspelled. How dare you call yourself a serious journalist, when there are thousands of poor videogame journalists on the street who can't even afford pixie stix! (well, all game journalists are poor, but...)

I agree with the Sonic Heroes bit 110%. You can't make Sonic stop, or else he's not really Sonic. That's like asking Venus to rotate in the same direction as all the other planets...well, but not really...anyhow, it's not very Sonic-like. This isn't very much like Sonic, either. (http://home.comcast.net/~edoscuro/art_sonic_f.jpg) Neither is the Xbox, for that matter.

Times change, I guess...

At least playing pool is still awesome...and ass, as you've noted. Yep.

Awesome stuff! I'll be a while reading through all of it, I've enjoyed the snippets I've read so far immensely.

I just finished reading it, and I thought it was great.

I think the difference between "now" and "then" was that "then", writers were writers and gamers were games. "Now", there are people who do both. Journalists who also happen to be gamers aren't going to be impressed by a box that says "Phantom" on the front and lights up. Especially not people who visit a site where not too long ago, someone crammed an Atari 5200 into a cocktail cabinet. Is there anyone left here who is impressed by Doom running on anything? My GP32 plays it great. I'm surprised it's not already built into Apex DVD players at this point.

Again, nice slant, and great article.

See, with Silly Putty, you can copy text, then streeeeetch it big!

Fuck. And the best part is that I spelled The Pixies correctly on the same page.

Yes you do. Except it's called The Freakin' Frog.

Hey, you're not the Red Eye from Edge Magazine! I finally figured that out.

Anyway, great piece. Transmetropolitan references are always appropriate, though I feel a bit sorry for the schlub who had the unenviable fate of hooking up the Phantom while people were actually watching.

As for the Sonic Heroes thing . . . I can see your point, but hasn’t Sonic had his share of stop-and-think moments from the start? Remember those spike traps from the original game’s second level? Then again, I haven't played Heroes yet, so I don't know how severe the gameplay speedbumps are.

Hmmm. The article that I'm seeing right now has it spelled "Pixy Stix," which is the name evidently (http://shop.store.yahoo.com/candydepot/wogipist.html) preferred by the Wonka people. Either way, there's no sugar in them. Remember that.
