GamesIndustry.biz (http://www.gamesindustry.biz/content_page.php?section_name=pub&aid=2852) has some speculation on the Nintendo DS price:

"Nintendo's newly announced console is likely to cost under £100 (€148) at launch, according to an analyst estimate, while further details of the Dual Screen device's hardware configuration continue to emerge. The pricing information, which was reported by news agency Bloomberg, is thought to be speculation rather than being based on inside information from Nintendo - but it's a fairly safe bet, given the low specification and "toy" concept behind the device. If the system does arrive at under £100 (20,000 Yen in Japan), it will at least partially confirm Nintendo's assertion that the DS is not designed to compete with Sony's PlayStation Portable - which is set to be priced at over £200 when it launches.

Meanwhile, further details regarding the hardware have continued to emerge, with confirmation that the CPUs in the device will be supplied by British chip designer ARM, and that the screens in the device will be arranged vertically, rather than side by side. It's also been reported widely that the DS will be playable on Nintendo's stand at E3."

My guess would be in the $200 range just based on it having 2 screens and 2 processors and what not, but I could be way off.

I can't see the system doing well at $200. That's more then I'm willing to spend on anything handheld, which I consider the DS as being. (I won't pay that much for the PSP, either.)

Now $150, that would go over better.

I will buy both at launch for whatever they cost. What can I say, I'm a gamer!

So am I, but I haven't really got money to throw around. Which explains why I'd usually rather spend $50 on five to ten old games rather than blow it all on one new game that might suck.

Consider that $150 to $200 would get me a loaded Game Gear and a whole stack of great games (not to mention all my SMS stuff with an adapter), and you can see why I'd be willing to pass on a potentially dead-in-the-water new handheld.

Not knocking the thing in any way, but I'd have to be seriously impressed by what the DS can do before I'd think about dropping major cash on another new console. As it is, I already have a problem buying anything for my GameCube that's more than $30...

Yeah, I might be different. I am single and have disposable cash. I have bought systems just so I can play one game before. Crazy? Yes I am! :)

Price may keep it from a dismal failure...then again I havent seen anything on it, Nintendo may surprise us all....As for the PSP, over 200 huh? I wonder how many people OTHER then the ones on this site are going to be happy with that....I sure as hell dont think you can charge more for a portable than a home system....Others that went the expensive route were not really successful(Nomad, Express, Lynx,) I know it is Sony and they have the market share, but I think that peple are not so blindly following them as much as they used to!

I am probably going to buy it too, even though there really isn't that much info released on it yet. Hopefully it will be pretty cool!!
NINTENDO RULES!!
