Holy crap
I didn't know that the best (and most playable) Medal of Honor is on GBA!
Go and buy this game!
I've never had so much (2d) fun in years.

A mix between classic (birdview-) run'n guning and "duck hunt" -shooting(Note:you don't shoot at ducks but at soldiers).
It also has one of the most detailed graphics I've ever seen for gba.
Soundeffects are really well done also.

Here is some info:

Five daring WWII missions behind enemy lines with three different types of levels: action, tactical, and sniping.

Fifteen levels staged across three theatres of war: Africa, the Western Front, and the Eastern Front.

Eight different weapons to choose from, each with uniquely balanced strengths and weaknesses

Controllable vehicles include jeeps and tanks :D :D :D

Intuitive enemy AI reacts to each threat appropriately by investigating suspicious noises, deploying patrols, and activating alarms.

Game Boy Advance Link: Use the Game Boy Advance Game Link cable to link up with a friend for some two-player combat action with cooperative and adversarial modes.

Join forces and Turn the Tide: Link up Medal of Honor Rising Sun on GameCube using the Nintendo GameCube Game Boy Advance Cable—your Game Boy Advance acts as a real-time map during Rising Sun gameplay.

Sound effects by the award winning Medal of Honor sound design team at EALA.

Authentic WWII feel with the assistance military technical advisor Capt. Dale Dye.

I would agree that it's good, although I wouldn't quite say "best 2D action on the GBA." It reminds me of games like Cabal or the overhead levels from Contra III. I like the top-down perspective. In a few spots, it gets difficult when you run out of health boxes, but overall, it's great. I have to review it for my local paper in a few weeks, and I think I'll give it an 'A.'

As for better 2D action, I would suggest you try Urban Yeti and Car Battler Joe. A lot of people on this site have also mentioned Ninja Five-O as well...

Interesting looks like a mix of amiga games and metal slug.

The best description for it I think, would be a "Modern Retro Game"

In that it has all the features of a retro "Commando" style game, something you'd see on the Nintendo or arcade sytems, running, shooting etc. But it has the features and depth of modern games. (e.g. there are grenades, various weapons, different level styles etc.)

I wouldn't say it's the best. But it's certainly a very impressive game.
