View Full Version : Eternal Champions - PAL Megadrive question

Just been looking over some of my games, and noticed something a little odd about my copy of Eternal Champions. The manual is printed portrait style, unlike the usual PAL Megadrive manuals which are landscape style. Also, the manual says "Special Edition Instruction Manual" on the front - and it is entirely in colour, all the way through. And only in English. And there is also a card with it that says "The Master Moves Card" on it, and it has a load of special moves for each character on it. Now, what I want to know is .. was every PAL copy of Eternal Champions like this, or is this one unusual?

There were both the 'Special Edition' and standard versions, but the only difference is the manual and moves card. I'm not sure if the 'Special Edition' was released throughout Europe, or just in the UK. (Does anyone know of a non-English 'Special Edition'?)

There doesn't seem to be much difference between the two versions, rarity-wise (it was almost a 50/50 split when I was logging Megadrive auctions), but copies complete with the moves card aswell as the manual seem much more scarce.

There's also a brown 'Sega Classics' re-release of it aswell.

Hi,

I know this is an old thread, but I found this forum because I was looking for information on my Eternal Champions and it helped me a lot.
Now I registered specifically to add some knowledge to this old thread:

Yes, there is a non English version of this Special Edition: I have one in German language (box, manual + move sheet at least are in German, haven't checked in game yet).
