I asked this question indirectly several months ago, but no one at the time knew anything about it.
Back in the NES days, Vic Tokai was one of my favorite third party companies. I LOVED all of their games -- Clash at Demonhead, Conflict, Golgo 13, Golgo 13 II: Mafat Conspirarcy, and others.
They made a few SNES games like Super Conflict, and I recall they made a few early Playstation games. They even had a licence from Nintendo to develop a N64 game.
The last I heard from them was around 1996, though.
Does anyone know what happened to the company?
Oh, Kid Fenris -- the Clash at Demonhead box art could be suitable for your website.

I'm pretty sure they worked on Harvest Moon: Friends of a Mineral Town... I'm playing it as I type this, but that name sounds familiar.

Dude. You posted this back in December and apparently ignored myself and Pete Whitey:

So yeah, not a lot happening from them recently, but they're still around.
I hope you don't post this next month, seriously.

Definitely. I have the cartridge, but I've been hunting for the box, or at least a large and detailed scan of it. The look on the main character's face is priceless.
As for Vic Tokai, I always liked them for the Trouble Shooter/Battle Mania series. It could have been a first-rate franchise, had it continued past Battle Mania 2.
Vic Tokai's also the source of one of the more intriguing unreleased SNES games --a translation of the RPG Shinseiki Odysselya, retitled "Lost Mission." I'd be very interested in talking to anyone who worked for the company's American branch around 1993.

Yes, Ed, I apoligize for posting again about this. I KNOW I asked about this a little while ago, but no one knew what happened to the company. I just figured that with more people around now I might get some different answers. (And I never saw those last replies, for some strange reason. Curious. :) )
Okay, so the company is still alive and well -- I'll have to dig out my translation software and see what I can read on their website. But why did they stop publishing games in North America? They had some REALLY fun games.....
