found this today too at the flea market, never had one, its pretty cool. Questions though, i know its missing the black eye shade, witch im pretty sure i can find somewhere (if anyone has one to trade or sell lemme know!) Also, i read somewhere about an ac adaptor for it, I didnt notice a place to plug on up? And most important, and im sure this is gonna sound like a dumb question, but hell, i dont know, ha.... when you play a game, are both sides supposed to work? Cuz in mine its just the rights side, with the left showing only faint red lines? Is this thing broke or just the 3d effect. Thanks in advance!!! =)

I'm not 100% sure on all your answers, but I'll do my best to help...first for missing parts, check the official Nintendo site...they always seemed pretty good about keeping Virtual Boy accessories in stock .

This should help you out...

The AC Adaptor would actually fit in where the batteries go!!!

You SHOULD have a picture on both sides, because you should get a pseudo- 3D effect when you look into the machine. If you see everything as flat, I think there may be something wrong with your left side image...

Hope this helps

hey there, yeah, i get the 3D effect, but when you close say your right eye, you see nothing, and when you close your left, you see. Sorry if it seems like a stupid question, but i never had one of these until now, and i have no clue how it works perfectly. Pretty cool though, thanks for the tip about the nintendo site, im gonna get the eye shade from them, i just wanna make sure this thing works right. Anyone else have any ideas? thanks!

Hey Simon,
Scooter's got it, the AC adapter plugs into the CONTROLLER, in the back, where the DC power pack is. This can be swapped out and you can use AC power instead. It's pretty weird having TWO wires coming from your controller but then again, the system itself is pretty weird.

As for the left/right focus issue you're having. There's a twist-knob on the top that says "IPR" or something like that. When you fire up the VB you should see a logo in the center with a dot in each of the four corners. If you don't, adjust that knob so that you do. The slider marked "focus" is best left for after you've got the game running and sort of tweaks the overall picture's look.

We have our Virtual Boy rarity/game list online now as well! Check out the banner below.

The eye shade can be purchased from www.vglq.com. You can still by the tap from Nintendo (along with the official VB headphones!!!) You can get the set, but I'd just buy the tap and visit EB or Funco and buy the SNES power cord. The power cord locks in the tap and goes on the controller (as previously mentioned)

Here is what DP was talking about:

The Tap model:

Someone tell me if these are too big and I'll remove them.
