First let me say I have NBA street 1 and 2 and really liked both games. But after playing NFL street this whole weekend I have swore the game off for the rest of my life! This is one of the cheapest games ever! I mean I understand fumbles and interceptions happen in football, but on this game they only seem to happen in the computer's favor and always happen when it will hurt your team the most. It got so bad I was calling fumbles before I even snapped the ball. The last straw was when I was playing the falcons and all I had to do was score 1 TD to beat them and take a player off their team. Well not only did I fumble with in 10 yards of the goal line, they returned it for a TD ( no big deal I knew that would happen) But I had a game breaker saved up so I get the ball back, hit X start my game breaker and bam! Fumble. Falcons score and I lose. After whipping my Xbox controller across the room, I calmly took the game out and put it back in its case and back on the shelf to collect dust for the rest of its cheating life.

Sounds like NBA Jam!
Or going a little further back and closer in nature, like Madden '92. How many times did I have to hear Madden bark out "FUMBLE!" when I was in my final game-deciding drive?
Is there any kind of an option to turn off the computer-assisted "AI"? Most home versions of NBA Jam had that option. If it doesn't then that does indeed suck, because I was looking forward to playing that one.

Not only that, but are there difficulty options? I remember getting furious at NBA Jam TE's insane difficulty, even on Easy, and later it was discovered that Acclaim screwed up the programming and made easy = hard and hard = easy. Maybe EA screwed up. Wouldn't be the first or last time they butchered something in a sports game.

I have not checked if there is a setting for easy or hard. I have been palaying the NFL challenge where I have a team of speds and have to play NFL teams. Someone else is going to have to answer that question, because if i put it in I will play it and it might cause the death of a Xbox controller. Oh and one more thing, The tip passes are a bunch of bull too. The computer will throw the ball you will defend the pass only to have the ball tipped 3 times and 50 yards down the field to where there are 3 comp players and none of yours around. Ok this is the last one, I have had 5 fumbles at the goal line that rolled.... wait that SHOT out of bounds in the end zone which resulted in a touch back.... computer's ball on the 20.

I used to live with a dude who played one of the early Genesis Maddens all the time. (Could have been '92, I can't remember)
More than once, I'd be asleep in my room & hear him yell, "Fuckin' cheater chip!"
Even with the move to CD & DVDs, I still refer to the "cheater chip" in games like NFL Street.

Just another prime example of cheap rubber band AI. I am so sick of it. Who in the crap thought up this idea anyway? "Let's make a game that makes you suck if you're too good, and it makes you good if you suck... then everyone will be equal and happy!" Pure trash...
Who wants to play a game that you can't get good at? I don't like making a basket or scoring a TD, and then wondering if it was really me that did it, or just the stupid AI allowing it so I won't feel bad. Ugh...
Midway can eat it for inventing rubberband AI... and so can all the companies that are borrowing the idea. It sucks! I'll be damned if I EVER play another NBA Jam or Street title again. And don't even think about trying to turn off computer assistance. It's always there. Turning it off in NBA Hangtime on the N64 never changed anything. I'd still repeatedly miss if I was ahead by double figures, and the computer players would get this insane speed and perfect shooting touch. It's all a crock.
Wayne Gretzky's Hockey for N64 was another winner. If you were down a few goals, the goalie literally would get as far away from the net as possible and just LET you score. Those who've played the game will understand.
Death to rubberband AI. I never wanna see it again as long as I play sports games.
