Hmm.. So all of the systems are now required to have scores video taped, eh? They're not accepting photographs (Polaroids) for anything anymore, I take it?
Nope, no more photos. The only place a picture would be useful is as additional proof if you are playing at a live event.
I still posted my questions on the TG forum since the email I sent to Mike Morrow bounced back with a "No known user" message.
If you are having trouble getting to Mike, you could always send a mail to Wolff Morrow, his brother. He could foward it for you i'm sure.
The form itself should be essentially the same for Colecovision and other consoles that Ron didn't referee entries himself. The only difference is the address of where to send the results (ie Steven Knox for Colecovision). 'gooch' on the TG forums is Steven's handle so you can post or pm there to get that info.

i just tried to email the ps1 guy, and my mail got returned. i was wanting to know if i just needed to vcr the game in progress or would i have to videotape myself and the game. i've always thought i was the man on this game, and now i guess i will have to put up or shut up.

Emulators are accepted for arcade submissions (i.e. MAME), the current one used is wolfmame32plus version 0.78
First welcome and thanks for clearing some stuff up :D
I had a question in regard to what I quoted above, I was trying for the Leprechaun 2004 Bounty, and I'm at the point where I haven't yet met the bounty but I beat out the current record for that game (http://www.twingalaxies.com/cgi-perl/search_scores_game.pl?&orig=game&game_id=1661&track_id=1343&Platform=Arcade&game_title=Leprechaun&track_name=&game_titleField=leprecha&track_nameField=&platformSelect=). When I asked over on TG's boards whether I can submit that (using wolfmame, submitting a INP file), one of you advisors (MKM maybe??) stated that TG treats MAME and ARCADE differently. So I'm just a little confused, can I submit a "Arcade" score if I'm using TG's WolfMAME?
Cause' I think I'd be hard pressed to find a Leprechaun machine anywhere near me :D If you know what I mean...
Thanks for any insight!

ughh i was literally only 1000 points below tieing the top score in Streets of Rage 2. what made it worse was that an enemy threw my away from where a 1000 point pick up was  well a few more tries and i think i can stomp that high score with no problem

Any record submitted via MAME will be tracked as a MAME record, i.e. seperate from the arcade scores. This is because of the differences between the arcade and MAME version, which vary from subtle to significant. However, in regards to the bounty, you can submit for MAME if you wish.
I agree that it is difficult to find old arcade games in your area and this is a problem that only gets worse as time passes. True arcade submissions get rarer everyday not only because of age but the expense related to the purchase of these machines. It's not as bad for old consoles since an old NES or atari and games can go for quite cheap. Your only chance these days is a classic arcade or a collector willing to let you use his machine. Good thing MAME is around.

Time to raise a thread up from the dead.
Just wondering if anyone was still trying for some of the 2004 bounties over at twin galaxies. I've recently been trying the fastest 120 stars on mario 64, but I'm not sure if I could ever be good enough to get it all on one 6 hour tape LOL That's like 20 stars every hour. I can get 15 stars in about 30 minutes, but I'm sure that's only because the stars aren't that hard to get in the early stages.
So anyone else still trying for a record?

gah, up to 35 stars in about an hour with alot of deaths/mistakes. Even if i dont get the fastest time, it's going to be a feat just to watch a tape of the whole game LOL
