What do you find yourself collecting more for then others?

What do you find yourself collecting more for then others? Like depending on location, etc, what game systems you find yourself collecting alot of?

For me it's NES for somereason- not just for my collections but for gaming too. Planning to get a couple games sometimes soon at Gamestop (Rad Racer 2 and Crystalis) and maybe pick up random stuff for mostly trade bait purposes. Maybe go all out on NES collecting, who knows!

It started out as the NES and Genesis. Then lately I've started mostly on PSX games.

I have more PSX games than I have games for most of my other systems. The NES and Genesis are both more, of course.

Mega Drive, Sharp x680x0, and a bit of PC-Engine, Famicom, and MSX 2 for good measure. Oddly, I've got a number of Super Famicom games I really need to get (Zelda 3 and Contra Spirits come to mind) but I haven't done that.

Oh, and strategy guides = rock. Good thing about them is that enough were printed that anybody can find them (if you know where to look).

For me, collecting things for the NES is an obsession. Anything new or used that I can buy I usually do, things that I don't already have of course.
And usually weekly, gamecube things. Thats what I buy the most of!

Generally, SNES and Genesis, as well as some PSX and PS2. Lately, I find myself obsessed with Neo Geo MVS too however! :D

My current focus is on collecting Dreamcast, Saturn and Mega CD games - however, I only seem to be having success with the DC. Good Saturn and Mega CD stuff is a bit hard to come by.

Late 2002/Early 2003 I focused more on my SNES - I haven't been getting much for that recently.

I don't actually have an N-Gage. I only have Tomb Raider.
I don't know where all my Game Boy's are. They are all lost in some box somewhere with all the games. (Which if I could find all the games I lost, would push me to about 550 games.)
I don't own a PS2. I do have a Kiosk disc and DVD Player update disc for it.

And mind you, I only started this hobby last June. The PSX is currently my fastest growing collection as worthy NES and Genesis games are becoming harder to find cheaply.

Lately my money has been consumed by Arcade games. I guess you can say I find myself collecting that. In the past 4 months I have gotten two, and am working on a 3rd.

recently its mainly been genesis, ps1 and ps2, wonderswan and wonderswan color.

although i my ws and wsc collection is small compared to everything else (8 total, complete) i think this collection will be growing the most this year. the more games i get to play, the more i fall in love with it. just owning the wonderswan crystal has negated all reason for me to get a gba although those famicon gba's look mighty nice :D

Mine has always been dc and saturn, but for awhile i was into virtual boy (I am only missing jack bros for the american games, and have 3 or 4 imports). i used to be big into saturn, just because when the saturn sales were slowing way, way down, best buy was selling every single saturn game for 10 bux or less, regardless of how new it was. that was even before i considered myself a collector, i wish i considered myself a collector back then, i would have at least 200 saturn games. i got the same deal with around 10 of my virtual boy games. blockbuster was selling them at 2 a piece, then 1 a piece, and then .50 a piece, and so i bought one of every game that i could. we need another console to die out besides dc so that i can act on some crazy cheap prices.

In terms of system colelcting, I'm on a DC and NES kick right now. In terms of software, mostly 2D fighters and shooties.

Well if were talking games that i have a greater tendency to pickup, well those would be for my PSOne, PS2, GCN, GBA, XBox....

Though ive got a pretty decent number of games overall.... (nothing like some of the people on this board, but its something)

I am down to my final 19 games for my Nes set. Yep 752 carts, over 400 boxed and complete. Recently I have been obsessing on finishing the set....which will be very hard to do :D
I also have 400+ Genesis carts complete, I collect any I dont have when I find them.
I really am collecting Neo Geo MVS carts right now, I only have 3, but my goal is 20 by the end of the year. I am going after the Metal Slug, King of Fighters and Samurai Showdown series.......I know, ouch! LOL
