Well, it's less than what the thing "retails" for, so nope, didn't do bad! I personally would never buy one of those (the same holds true for the Game Axe), but I submit that it's a pretty good design and I'm angry at Nintendo for never releasing a console like this.

I think it is an awesome collectors item.

You bought it to play games on, though, and that's what counts. (Right?) I would be rather hesitant to say it's got a ton of collector's value...the Game Axe was up to $70+ for a while, now it's probably down a bit after this came along. Don't know if that's what you're saying, but in any case it'd be really cool to show to friends :)

Yeah I will play it but I also want it because no one I know has heard of it so it will be an awesome conversation starter.

Well... this could be good for you. I hope you don't get the blue console pictured (I know that that's a stock pic, but still), as I hear the blue ones are the PAL ones, and pink ones are NTSC. Fair price, but the item itslef looks cool. Worth it, I think.

As long as it plays Japanese games I don't care as I won't be taking it out to the TV. Does the PAL version play Japanese games? If not then I would assume it is the pink one as it says "Your perfect, portable solution to playing all your favorite Japanese Famicom games" in the auction description.

From Classicgaming's The Warp Zone site:
Also for those who were wondering, the Game Theory Admiral is available in both NTSC and PAL formats. The NTSC models were going to be pink and the PAL models blue. However, my model is marked as an NTSC model yet it is one of the blue systems. Hmm.
This (http://www.success-hk.com/review/gta/) site makes me wonder if the PAL/NTSC difference is going to render some games unplayable, but is mostly a problem when you're hooked up to a TV.
Hope you get a blue NTSC system. :)

I guess you did get a good deal. That is a pretty neat thing to have

The blue ones and pink ones can be either NTSC or PAl now.
The box is marked saying which it is. (Mine is blue and is a NTSC).
They're pretty nice but the screen is a little small and does blur , although not as bad as the Game Axe.
Also most converters will not work with them, so playing US NES games is out unless you get lucky with the right converter.

Those rock and I would say definitly worth $50. But, it's times like this when you wish NES carts weren't so huge. I mean.....come on.....

I bought one out of curiosity and I was amazed about the screen quality. It's sharp and it has a good contrast.
It has a couple of little probs like screen resfresh rate and sometimes the sound effects seem crumbled.
For the price, however, it's suprisingly good quality.
