This guy has more damn information on his site about obscure gaming than I have ever seen. Click the "Games" link on the upper left or just look around the main site. I love the "101 Secrets of the PC Engine". He also modded a SNES to play Jamma!! He seems pretty smart.

Maxlords pointed me there not long ago.
Great site (content and design) but your medicore impression of Border Down left a bad taste in my mouth... you know, like when you're in prison. I guess that's what impressions are for though. Anyways, glad to see that some people still take pride in what the put on a webpage.
I also meant to email you -- I got a Terradrive leaflet not long ago. Not sure if it has any info you don't have already but was going to offer a scan of it.
EDIT:
Respect on PC-Engine Rumor #25. Nobody else seems to believe me (check out the Strider thread somewhere in these forums)

I didn't think that was right. Let's play a game... huh? Is it Neogeoman? I think that's correct. If it is, you always have some great stuff.

Haha. I can't imagine that neandrethal putting together a site like you have. Now you work with somebody else, right?
Yeah, 'neogeoman' is my ebay nick. Please buy my stuff - bid high, there's rent to pay. ^_^
gamesx.com, atarilabs.com + nfg.2y.net are all 1-man creations. Other than credit for info or research no one's done any work on my sites but me. FWIW they're all done with EditPlus (like Notepad) too. =)
Regarding PCE Secret 25, someone recently sent me a scan from a PCE magazine that had pictures and text on the game. He presented it, I think, as proof the game existed; or at least that it wasn't a GameFan fabrication. Shame it said "Arcade screenshot" under the pictures, but I guess GF is off the hook.
And regarding Borderdown... I still don't like it. It's ugly, slow, and sounds terrible. There are other far better shooters out there, and I think too many people give too much credit to this one because it's a bit of an unknown game on a dead console. Now Psyvariar 2, on the other hand, should be a DC shmup worth crowing about. =)

I have bought stuff from you in the past and will again when I can afford it. I want that silver DC so bad. :D Anyway, the obscure items you get make you stand out to me and I check your auctions all the time. If the funds were there I'd bid in a second.
Keep up the good work!

Shame it said "Arcade screenshot" under the pictures, but I guess GF is off the hook.
I would like to see that if possible. If you check the "strider" thread, then you'll see my delima. I've only seen 1 place (in Japanese) mention it was slated for the SGX, but they also said there was a Hucard version slated as well.
Border Down:
I like it. Replay value is higher than most shooters (for me anyway) and while I think Psyvariar 2 is fantastic (the arcade anyway) there's only so much you can do with 5 stages. It is wicked though.
Poking around a bit more at your site:
Did you swipe the Demon Front screenshots from an official website? I tried to get some video of it (same time I got Psyvariar 2 video) but it just came out like shit, so I never posted it. Blurry and far would be two good words to describe it. The game centers are so weird about you filming stuff. It is a great game though. Taito Station in Shibuya has it right next to Dolphin Blue... hard to decide which to play.
BTW- what part of Japan you in?
IGS' official site is pretty useless for just about any purpose, last I checked google scored my site higher than theirs for "demon front". =)
The pics were made with a frighteningly expensive RGB capture card direct from the PCB (which I own). Dolphin Blue is poo, I played it, coincidently at another Taito arcade in Shinjuku. Demon Front really isn't much better, but really you could do far worse than copy a game like Metal Slug. =)
I'll be posting the Strider bit soon, along with some 'art' PC Engines that look like someone melted the console and threw strings of paint at them.
Border Down is just so damned boring to me. I loath the music most, but the bland backgrounds are pretty bad too. Gamewise it's really not bad, just not memorable. As far as I'm concerned nothing tops Raiden DX. I also have a soft spot for Dangun Feveron, and Ketsui's good but I suck at it (also it's ugly and the music sucks).
I'm in Saitama prefecture, about 50 mins out of Tokyo.

You're the proprietor of gamesx.com? Thanks very much for your chipless saturn mod. I'm always reccomending your website to people.
...of course, you came out with the SWITCHLESS saturn mod, like, one week after I cut a hole for a switch into my console, but that's hardly your fault. :D

That Strider pic concerning #25 was taken from the x68k version?

Yeah. I happened to have it handy, and I think based on my comparisons of some other Capcom X68k softs it's pixel-for-pixel arcade perfect. =)

Nice. What's the maker? I've got a Pinnacle Systems card from some years ago. For resolutions up to S-Video it's pretty good. By todays standards it costed an arm and a leg, but it came w/ a Premiere 6 license (which I don't really dig too much). For my purposes it's fine.
Dolphin Blue is poo, I played it, coincidently at another Taito arcade in Shinjuku. Demon Front really isn't much better,
Yeah, but I kinda live for platformers, so seeing new ones makes me giggle like a school girl. I think Demon Front definitely looks more retro. Yeah, it's a Metal Slug knock-off, but I'm not such a follower of MS in the first place.

Looking forward to it. I've got a lot of stuff that would fit into the "weird crap" section, but not sure how to present it. I recently switched the ole' site over to MySQL and Perl, so everything has to be a bit more thought out (but when it is, updates are a snap).
Border Down is just so damned boring to me. I loath the music
Well, you'll never hear anything but complaints about game music from me... or just about any J-music. I'm really picky when it comes to that. Since moving here, my hate for it has gotten worse. I'll admit, some of Border Downs is ridiculously out of place.
As far as I'm concerned nothing tops Raiden DX.
I achieve new levels of sucking at any Raiden game. Popped in Raiden Densetsu on the Marty not long ago. 30 minute and never got passed stage 2. :(
I'm in Saitama prefecture, about 50 mins out of Tokyo.
Ah, the old Saitama. I went through there not long ago on the way to Gala Yuuzawa. Sounds like you've got some space if you've got PCBs (and presumably a cabinet). I always wondered how people did that in Japan.
Drop me a line sometime. Maybe we can do a beer and the Aki-crawl.

Heh. Funny stuff.
Anyway, I'd like to know what THIS (http://nfg.2y.net/grafx/saturnAC.htm) is. With all the red LED's.
And I wouldn't mind having one of THESE (http://nfg.2y.net/games/satadd/), though.
Whew, lots of things to follow up with:
The RGB capture card I'm using is an $800 device from Data Translations. It's a piece of shit, forgive me for saying so. Some bad horizontal blur (3-7 pixels worth) and poor contrast make it essentially a waste of money in my book. I've seen results from a $1200 card and they're stellar, so I guess you get what you pay for. Who'd have thought $800 was CHEAP!?
For everyone who's concerned about the breasts on the main page, I actually added a splashpage to give you the chance to avoid them. the root directory ( http://nfg.2y.net ) has a safe page, and if you don't go to "main" (Which is basically a forgotten wasteland anyway) and choose "games" instead you'll be fine. They're the only breasts on the whole site. It's a sad society we live in when something as harmless and tasteful as those breasts causes anything but happiness.
As for Jasoco's questions: Those two devices perform the same function, but one's smaller and newer, and lacks the SCSI port. And it doesn't look nearly as cool.

Gotta love those Japanese who spend $800 on something just to disassemble it. ;)
I'm a Hardware Photo Whore. I love pictures of anything cool looking that I've never seen before. Or that I have seen before.
Oh, and I like the boobies.

You're talking to the guy who opened, hacked and modded his HiSaturn Navi within a day of getting it, who opened the N64 the day of release, and who opened and modded the PCEngine LT before even turning it on to see if it worked. What goes on inside is every bit as interesting as the games they play, as far as I'm concerned.
I've got a screwdriver and a desire to use it. Be warned! >=)

The printer is from a Pokémon Snap Kiosk. And the Tester test everything. It was used at repair shops.
Click the pictures to go to pages with more pics.
The Printer doesn't have too many pics yet, but the tester has a crude video of it in action. Check it out! (One day I'll get a way to import the video directly from the device and make a nicer video.)

Hey, NFG, on your site you have that Nintendo Monopoly page. And on it I believe is an image.
In that image is a bunch of Nintendo stuff. A couple questions come to mind.
Just curious. Who is the guy on the couch?
And where did you (If it is your picture.) get the cabinet with Mario on it? Because it looks to be made by the same company that made the one I got off eBay a few months ago.

I'd love to have the one in your pic. Even better, I'd love to know more about the one I actually have.
He's a friend of mine, I imagine he'd like to remain more or less anonymous. Chances are that cabinet was just a K-Mart licensed special, I doubt it was used in any official capacity.
