Hi, I'm new here. Amazingly, I picked a PAL copy of Starwing competion edition up in GameStation for £3.99. I'm pretty sure they thought it was just the regular Starwing.

I know the American version is rare, the "Super Weekend" edition. This is the same thing, only it doesnt mention the "super weekend" part at all. And unusally, the pins at the bottom of the cart are thinner, and there is two smaller ones to each side, which means the carts needs a bit of force to work.

You play for four minutes then it takes you score.

Does ANYBODY know it's rarity?

Heya, it is the same thing as its US counterpart and it is one of the Hardest to find PAL SNES releases. congrats on one hell of a find for 3.99

Lucky!

btw: The extra 16 pins are for the "Super FX chip".
These are all the games (I know of) that use the extra pins.
Street Fighter Alpha 2
Super Mario World 2
Winter Gold
Doom
Stunt Race FX
Dirt Trax FX
Mega Man X2 and X3
Starwing

The Super GameBoy also uses the extra pins.

Well, if you can produce a little more evidence (no offence intended, honest, but there are quite a few people who aren't quite so truthful about their finds) then including the one you've just picked up I know of only 4 such carts knocking around - anywhere.

In terms of SNES finds, it's one of the extreme rarities and on top of all that it's great to play - kind of like a Starwing Arcade game. "Great find" would be a gross understatement. Congrats :)

There's also

Top Gear 3000 (At least I think)
Kirby's Funpack (8 in 1)

And a couple of Jap games.

Damn! I frequent a dutch messageboard that had one of these for sale a few months back. I bid 20, but some other guy bid 25, and he got it.
I don't have a snes and don't intend to get one, so I didn't really mind at the moment, but now I do feel a bit stupid.

What would the value of this cartridge be?

Well I got mine for $9.99 so it is not too much of a stretch. Besides if he has a pic of the receipt then it will just say starfox on it. A pic of the cart is different though.
