It was worth over $200 when it was retailed in stores...
so i guess i look at it this way...

A playstation 2 is going for $145 used at funco... they are common.

A turbografx 16 is going for whatever the guy selling it is asking for...
or .. a new one for $125 ... hard to get a new tg16 nowadays.

I try telling people, if your gonna start collecting TG16 your in for a hell
of a time ... but its worth it in the long run.
5 player bomberman 93' is so fun on the tg16.

NOTICE...
if your even thinking about buying one of those new expresses...
HAVE THE PEOPLE OPEN IT UP AND TURN IT ON FIRST....
tell them you want one with NO blown pixels.

You can get a Turbo Duo on ebay for under $ 200

I would spend the $125 there

and yes it is worth it

Defiantley woth the money!
Espcially since they are new, you get to smell that fresh, new, out of the box smell and enjoy it. It gives me goosebumps.
I think I might have a problem. @_@

Do the American Turbo Grafx 16 consoles and CD unit add-ons play foreign games right outta the box? Or do they have to be modded first? I heard that Turbo Duos could play any software from any country, and I was wondering if this applied to all NEC consoles.

TG-16's and TurboDuo's can't play Japanese HU cards unless they're modded or you get an expensive($75+) Kisado adapter. There is no region lockout on CD based games. If you get a TG-CD add on make sure you get it with a system 3.0 card. System 2.0 cards only play regular CD's. 3.0 play the super CD-rom games. The TurboDuo plays regular and Super CD-rom games. If you want to play any of the Jpn Arcade card games then you would need an Arcade card Duo with a Kisado for the TurboDuo or an Arcade card Pro with a Kisado for the TG-16/CD.

:fist: :above me: \^_^/

Since there's no emoticon for just *pointing upwards*, you'll have to figure a cross between those three. Anyway, that hit it right on the head... but if you're still confused, check out:

Good material. This one's also cool for reading:

Thanks for the links, guys. That definitely helps out. I might just give this Turbo thing a chance now. :)

It makes no mention of packaging and documentation. It could very well be a bare console which isn't even close to worth $125 even if it is new (and how would you prove it?).
