Hey!
I don't post here much as you can see but I'd like to ask you guys' opinion.
Atari 5200 - Wico joystick controllers....

Worth $100 shipped for a pair WITH the "Y" cables in good working shape? A little more than I want to spend, but seems to be a good deal.

Opinions please??? :help:

Way to expensive. Buy this instead.

That's only compatible with the 2600 isn't it? Remember the 5200 needs 2 fire button support....and also, I'd need the masterplay interface for that to work (which I have but try not to use that so as to preseve it)
Those sticks would be a good alternative of they worked...

$100 seems way to expensive, especially since there known to break. I wouldn't do it. Keep checking EbAy.

$100 is a bit on the high side, but not unreasonable if they both work well, and you'd be getting 2 y-cables as well right? I personally don't like the whole y-cable bit, or the Comp Pro with it's pass thru now that I've used the Wico Keypad Command thingy. I had too much trouble getting my 5200 sticks to stay centered while playing games, it was a bother. :x With the keypad you do away with the 5200 stick and if there's any control issues you at least know it's the controller in hand, & not the one on the ground out of the way, ;)

Oh and what's this about preseving teh masterplay? :hmm: It's meant to be played! You could always pick up one of the adapters from the AA store as well, works the same way.

That is kind of lame thinking on my part now that you mention it. It's just that the 5200 is very fragile imo. Things tend to break and/or wear down pretty easily....
Anyways, I wound up getting a 2nd offer for $90 shipped for the pair, and the first seller countered me a offer of $90 as well. I think I'm gonna take the plunge. I've really started appreceating Pam of late and like the idea of having the Wico sticks.

What the hell....it's only money! :D

I sold my Command Control Joystick with Keypad and no Y cable on eBay for $125. Don't know if that helps....
