View Full Version : Forget rarities - what COMMON games do you NOT have??

As collectors, we're always looking out for the rarest, most valuable and/or most obscure games we can get our hands on.

But, in all this hunting - do your collections lack certain common games? Games that you see all the time but never seem to bother picking up??

"Oh, I'll get it another time," is what I usually say to myself

I just realised a few days ago that I don't have Super Mario World. It's crazy! The SNES's flagship title - and I don't have it! I always see it, but - I always grab other games in favour of it, or wait and see if I can get it cheaper.

So - what common stuff DON'T you have? Discuss!

That list is way to long, that's because here in holland the prices are relative high. Bought a SMB/Duckhunt for € 2,50. Bought other common games for like 4 - 5 euro. Common SNES games are even more expensive. (and i'm talking about lose carts here).

I didn't mean a complete list - just a few games which are strangely missing from your collection. Games which seems strange that you don't them.

I have quite a few, but SMW seems to be the one games which stands out as one of the biggest omissions from my collection.

And know exactly how you feel about expensive games.

Over here, loose SNES carts can go for over $20 AU - and NES carts for up to $10 AU.

Reaching somewhere in the mark of 700 nes games (including doubles) and no Super Mario/Track Meet/Duck Hunt. Stupid non common common game.

ironically, Maze Craze for 2600.

I crunchified mine a while ago by accident and have never run across another.

Seriously. I don't even have a 2600... yet. I've been wanting to get one for quite some time, but I seem to be running out of storage space. :o

I´ve recently purchased Sonic 2, so maybe Sonic 3 for the Genesis, or any Megaman games for the Nes

I kind of just gave my SMB/DH away, so I don't have that. I also don't even own a combat, and I have 2 2600's. :eek 2:

To date, I have no Sonic games, or a copy of SMB 3. I don't really plan on getting any of them either.

Sonic the Hedgehog for Genesis. Actually the only Genesis game I own at the moment is Sonic 2. Changing that soon.

Also missing a lot of PSX games (only one I got is Puzzle Fighter) lookin' for Tomb Raider, RE Director's Cut, Tenchu, Um Jammer Lammy, Silent Hill, Final Fantasy 7....

I've gotten a lot of MVS carts lately, I'm about to hit 20... no Fatal Fury 1 or 2. No Samurai Shodown beyond the first. Most of the cheap carts on the system I don't have yet, but I want them. I just simply decide to go for 1 higher priced cart than a few lowers.

That's sort of the opposite of me, in a way...I have a few Sonic games (multiple copies of 1 and 2 picked up "along the way") but the only Mario game I've gotten since Super Mario 64 (when I first got a 64) and my more recent pickup of Yoshi's Island has been the SMB/Duck Hunt cart I picked up today (and an awfully dirty one, too).

I've never owned a MegaMan game, and I don't think I'll be picking up any for quite a while (if ever). I own four Japanese Final Fantasy games (IV-VI and a loose IV Easytype), but haven't played them.

You know, I don't own a lot of stuff. Don't have a lot of "must have" SNES titles, like Link to the Past or any Mario game besides those three games.

I like to keep focused on just a few games. I don't think it's embarrasing to say that I haven't played my Atari 2600 or almost all of my import games (consoles are expensive, and I'm not about to open my sealed games); it's just a fact of life.

I'm primarily a 2600 collector, and for years I've been ignoring the many Sears Telegames titles I see in the thrifts and shops, particularly if it's a title of which I know I already have the Atari-label equivalent. But lately I'm starting to realize that - at least in my neck of the woods (New Mexico) - that all 2600 stuff seems to be getting scarcer and scarcer so I've been trying to get more of these Sears titles onto my shelves.

So from a player standpoint (and I'm still a player first and foremost), this is pointless. But as a collector, you run into some neat surprises along the way when you give the Telegames titles a second glance. For example, I've had Atari Human Cannonball (uncommon) for a while now. It never occurred to me that its Telegames equivalent, Cannon Man, is rated extremely rare and I was lucky to find one, or rather, pick one up that had been languishing at a local shop for months.

Players and collectors alike...get `em while you still can.

If I only take a look at PAL NES games, there are some common games I don't have yet.

Blades of Steel, Cobra Triangle, Gradius and Golf for example.
