Alright, the only thing speical about this is the black center piece. And that is removable. You can buy spare ones on the nintendo website for like $2 or something. So all that is special about this is a $2 piece of plastic. I would have hoped that they don't charge any more than the price of a system plus games or whatever it comes with. But $269.00.....are they serious....who would buy this??? This has to be worse than the F-Zero cube that was recently on ebay.

According to the article on GameSpot, I thought this was going to be a Japanese only thing.

Notice that Lik-Sang is also region-modding the system and adding a step-down power convertor. That more than likely attributes to the higher price of the system. That and the games it comes with.

Still, it's not worth that much....all it is is a platinum gamecube with a different logo..

Plus a game plus a bonus game plus a book of art. Plus region modded and power converted.
$270 is high, but it's not so outrageous.

If I was a Metal Gear fan, I would seriously consider that. It looks really cool. And I don't think it's "Worse than the F-Zero Cube". No way siree bob-a-roonie sue.
Now, if they came out with a bright Yellow Cube bundled with Serious Sam and the SS logo on the top where the circle is, THAT I would buy...

To me, the color looks different. Kind of a cross between gunmetal and the platinum. Forget about that though...
Modded Gamecube = $170
Game = $50
Artbook = $20-$50 (I'm assuming its authentic if it comes with the system)
Limited Disc = $???
Sorry, I don't even find that to be on the high side, and I've never even played a Metal Gear game.
