OK. I've tried about 15 times now. And I can not get past the FIRST SCREEN IN THIS GODDAMN GAME. I might as well not have my controller plugged in. What horribly precise moment in time do I have to hit the damn sword button?

This game has ALWAYS been one of the the most DAMN ANNOYING GAMES ON THE FACE OF THE EARTH!

And the Sega CD version is the worst, I think. x_x

I love this game! But not for the Sega CD. The GB version is similar. And I won't even comment on the NES version.

The GB version is similar to the SEGACD version in what way?

If its the "fall through the bridge" scene, all you have to do is hit the sword when the tenticles wander over, then hit "up" immediately after the sword swings to climb back up out of the hole. (You may also have to hit "right" to run away after climbing up - it's a default move on the arcade, but can't remember if the Sega CD version requires that extra step.)

Yeh, I know what buttons to hit...but I can't figure out when. "OK, I'll try this frame now. No...alright, this frame. No....this one? Naw....DAMN IT"

I have the 3DO version and I enjoy it, but they really should have some decent cues to tell you what button to press.

It's all video...kinda. It's been completely re-animated to fit within the color limitations and the sound has been completely butchered. Alot of scenes are missing as well. Still, it's pretty damned impressive to see in motion.

i recently got this game for sega cd as well... and it took me for goddamn ever to get past that first scene. i finally managed to do it... and it locked up on the second scene. admittedly, my disk looks like total asshole... so i need to find me a new copy of it. but shit... i probably won't play through it anyway. i'll give myself an aneurysm if i try.

Took me two hours, and three guides, to get me past that first scene on the SegaCD version.

I stopped playing soon after (meaning after I died again on the second screen). I'm not a big fan of that style of game (which makes me wonder why I bought a CDX in the first place...)

Its basically the same as the arcade... you have played the arcade version,,, havent you? If you didnt you missed out man,,, thats was an awesome
feeling to wail on Dragons Lair until it was finished in front of a crowd of
people.

www.gamefaqs.com has it .. you can try the guide for the 3DO too.
