No links here, no sir, no ma'am. I'm surprised it's already out -- must mean that Nintendo gets the carts moving pretty quickly.

Here's some screenshots somebody took:

Title screen in VisualBoy Advance (oh, yeah...new style Win XP sucks, classic forever, heh heh) ~70K (http://www.boomspeed.com/wolfpack44/metroid0.jpg)

Data Select screen (of course it's a spoiler) (http://www.boomspeed.com/wolfpack44/met2.jpg)

Brinstar Map (more spoilers, obviously) (http://www.boomspeed.com/wolfpack44/met6.jpg)

Oh yeah, do feel free to comment on this, flame the GBA ROM release dump teams, whatever...just don't throw anything my way. This is just the facts, ma'am. I don't apologize for posting this, because I think it's something people should know about, and if you want to go grab that ROM...I expect you to go buy the game new, as well.

I can find t00 jah r0mzzz :P

I'm gonna buy the real thing works. Metroid Fusion looked fuzzy as hell on my TV, but I'm still gonna buy this. I'll have an S-Vid cable for my GameCube by then, most likely.

I am definitely going to buy this game. I'm not really surprised the ROM is out there already.

Kind of off topic, but buttasuperb....may I ask where you ordered the Famicom GBA SP from? I really want one but don't know where I can order it.

This is nothing compared to the Fusion ROM... as far as early dumps are concerned. I downloaded and finished Metroid Fusion in late September 2002... a full month and a half to two months before its official release. Needless to say, I was shocked to find a link to the ROM in a forum I just happened to be browsing one day. Of course, I still bought the game. Metroid's my game, yo. I need to own and play them all thoroughly.

I think I'm gonna hold out on downloading ZM though. This time, I'd rather see it on my Game Boy Player first. Just wish I had one of them Hori pads to play it with though.

By the way, I was joking about finding ROMs. Some folks at another forum I frequent have it...but I don't have it, and I won't be wasting my time downloading it to pass along.

Just a heads up.

Thanks for the info on the GBA SP guys.

Yup. There's no regional lockout on GB, GBC, and GBA games. All GBA's play the same games.

Jive3D

yeah all GB products have no regional lockout, which is great since it's a portable unit and a traveller can pick up a game in japan and play it on the way back to the US.

I will most likley purchase this game as well, I buy all the major franchises for the gba, but the ROM will still be thoroughly enjoyed.

Of GBA Roms? They play exactly as if you were using the store bought cart. Identical.

I know a lot of you are against roms, and a lot are for them. But if you want Metroid Zero Mission heres a site that carries it. It always carried the latest 10 GBA Roms...

I've never posted a rom link here before, so mods, feel free to delete this at your discretion. :)

It's rather disturbing that a game not due to be released until Tuesday has allready been dumped by someone. That means someone inside NOA must have done it.

And why play a Game Boy ROM on the computer? The whole point of a GBA game is for it to be PORTABLE.

I'm not saying it does'nt have uses -- checking out new games to decide to buy them, for example, since no one rents GBA games. But I know I allready want to buy this game. I wonder how much it's going to hurt sales.

I've got a 14 hour plane ride coming up. I'm buying the real thing for that. :)

Most cart games r pirated before they are shipped to the public, many times before the retailer! My gues is that it is a leak at the manafacturing plant...All prerelease ROms are digitally ID so its unlikely that they r from Nintendo...

It's rather disturbing that a game not due to be released until Tuesday has allready been dumped by someone. That means someone inside NOA must have done it.

More likely it was someone at the manufacturing plant, someone at a retail shop who received the games early, or someone who moved the games between point A and B. Most pre-released albums get leaked in the same manner. All albums, DVDs, and videogames are released on Tuesdays, but they don't all get magically shipped on Monday -- when I worked at Best Buy, we got almost all new released the Saturday before release day, and would often buy them early.

I wonder how much it's going to hurt sales.

I would say almost 0. For the people who don't have GBAs and only have emulators, they weren't going to buy the game anyway. For the people who have Flash Roms and don't buy games, they weren't going to buy the game anyway. The people who do buy games will buy this anyway. I don't think the fact that it came out 7 days early will sway buyers. People who would try a game out on an emulator/flash rom before purchasing would do that on games that get released on a normal schedule anyway.

While I agree having the gba for car rides and such is awesome, the best point of the gba is that the games are in 2D.

I disagree. IMHO most people buy those Flash Carts to pirate games. I can honestly say that I play NES games on mine almost exclusively.

Also, linking to current rom sites is a bad idea. If I'm not mistaken, simply talking about current rom files is against forum rules.

I don't even have the heart to disagree with you on that last point. I was going to say that I've recieved only ONE PM about getting the ROM, and that's from somebody I know will be getting the game when it comes out. A forumer I like and who's been on the right side of things when it's necessary.

I would like to ask that the links to ROM sites posted by two members be edited out. I'm not very happy that happened.

This was supposed to be an informative post. I understand that a lot of folks are really happy about this, and so am I -- if you absolutely must have the ROM now, I can't stop you from finding it. However, please don't degrade this forum into a den of piracy and illegal ROM hunting. New systems and ROMs are specifically off-limits even in the emulation forum.
