Im about to buy this game and i need your opinion

I was shopping around in EB the other day and noticed
they had a castlevania game for the psx2.

USED they wanted $44 and NEW they wanted $50
go figure, anyways i was gonna get it for myself on my birthday
and wondered if anybody else here played it.

I have that and let me give you this piece of advice, don't expect symphony of the night cause frankly you'll be slightly disappointed. let's just say I did that and I played up to the first boss and currently it's in my maybe finish pile. which is pretty bad since this was a birthday gift from a friend

but when compared to the other 3d castlevania this is probably the best one, although some people complained that it was too short or something.

Superb game. Just don't go in expecting SotN. It's more of a straight-up action title than anything else. Good camera work, good control, best game music EVAR.

One of the best PS2 games I played last year.

Gamestop has it for $29.99 new.

I got it the day it came out and enjoyed playing it...its a good game, not great, with repetitive but fun action. The only major drawback is that its pretty short. If I'd have know all of this before I got it, I probably would have waiting until a price drop. I won't say its worth full price, but its certainly worth $30 or less.

Ok i went with Drexel and took advantage of the $29 price at best buy.

Ive never played DEVIL MAY CRY but ive seen some friends play it.
THIS GAME reminds me of DMC but has the castlevania flavor.

I think they shoulda made better use of the belmont bloodline story...
I mean for christ sakes,, Leon Belmont ,, well he's a belmont!
But they treat him like an ordinary joe, not a vampire slayer.

I couldnt control the camera angles.. thats bullshit.
First boss was completely retarded, they shoulda added gamma correction
in the game options, and i hate using the analog stick.. they dont let you
use the D pad to control leon.
LACK OF TRAPS.. well if they made it 3D they shoulda added more traps.
I mean, I loved whipping the hell out of Nocturn in the Moonlight
because it took a long time (not to mention i cant read kanji) but
goddamn they should have at least made a better storyline..
Belmonts kill vampires ....... like all day and night like its thier job and shit.
Not run around looking for some (they picked a retarded name for the head vampire too) idiot bored vampire playing a game.

I give the game a 5 because i could just play DMC and get the same gameplay.
