Playing the role of trustworthy newshound (well, not quite at all, rather, beyond even fickle, as I've never brought any news here before, and if this was a job they wouldn't even know I'd been hired), I bring to you News pertaining to Halo 2.

In short, the game won't be coming out until Fall 2004, so Bungie announced the bad news in an official posting to their web site, and even managed to put a positive spin on it:

So remember last year when we told you we don't announce release dates until we're confident we'll meet our deadline? Well now were [sic] confident. Halo 2 will ship in Fall, 2004. Please make a note of it. continues >> (http://www.bungie.net/perlbin/blam.pl?file=/site/0/news/news_detail.html&id=C2D1DA44-6C29-4769-AF11-5F9E4948BF0B)

Does anyone even care anymore? This game is going to be delayed until the end of time, and it's already unable to live up to the hype. It's not possible that it's going to be as great as everyone expects... Hell, after I heard all the greatness that is Halo, I gave it a shot and I was wholly unimpressed. Cookie-cutter FPS, that was pretty... when it wasn't cutting and pasting level design.

So, where do they go? Unless this game gives me head while I play it, it can't be as good as they or anyone else claims it to be. Just release it and get it over with already.

Heh heh...Goldeneye was much greater in its day. Yeah, the level design really left nothing interesting to do.

In other news:

Gosh, I dont know if Microsoft or their sorry ass official magazine can wait that long...any more delays and they would run out of things to say and show about it :D

Hmm.. the Screenshot does not impress me. Sure, it's bump mapped. But it is worse looking than Halo 1.

In FACT, I was more impressed by the first Duke Nukem Forever screenshot back in 1996!

Bah. I will get it. I have pre-ordered it. And I hope they have pre-order freebies. But bah.
