The great things about driving a cab are (1) you are always going past a game store, and (2) you always have cash in your pocket. So here's what fell into my lap in the last few days:

I got a killer Turbo Express from AdamG this week. It's been playing Devil's Crush almost non-stop.

I picked up R-Type Final last night, and it's hella fun.

Not much else going on, though. However, some friends and I intend on hitting all of the Gamestops in the area to pick up on some SNES and NES goodness before they're all gone.

I didn't found anything (well, I found a shop with sealed saturn/DC games but they are waaaay overpriced...). I'm just waiting for some saturn games to arrive from ebay sellers: Sakura Wars 2 L.E., Robo Pit and Virtua Soccer.

Otherwise it was a pretty good week :D

There was a $3.00 pick up charge ( I chose to go pick it up to avoid the ridiculous shipping rates) so after tax it came to a grand total of $10.10 !!! Ten bucks for a DC with all hook ups, a controller, and a memory card!! I already have 2 DC's, but I couldn't pass up this deal!!

I hear ya!! I thought it was ridiculous also!! They have some lame-ass reason, like it being a transaction handling fee. If they would have shipped it. they wanted to charge $18.74 (for the cheapest shipping option!), so I ate the 3 bucks and picked it up. It is only a couple miles from my work, so it wasn't a problem. Even with the BS pickup charge, I think $10 for a DC with controller, memory card, and hookups is a sweet deal!

All I got this week were Gods and Faceball 2000 for the SNES... $9 and $8 respectively. I loved Gods on the Amiga, so I'd been looking for it for a while, and Faceball is an old favorite of mine on the Gameboy.

I also saw a boxed copy of F-Zero X for $10 that I'll probably be picking up tomorrow perhaps.

Yeah, it is worth 10.00....but that 3.00 is BS man. I'd have bitched about it for a while. They just didn't like the fact they had to sell a dreamcast for 6.50. I once had a guy win something near me, I charged him 5.00 extra for the simple fact I had to drive 30 miles to take it to him...being that he was underage and using his moms account. I wouldn't have done it if I wasn't really wanting to go to that game store that was near where he lived though so I didn't care too much. But that 3.00 they charged you was bull...and I could squabble about them charging you tax too, because if they shipped it they wouldnt have charged tax. Oh well....everyones out to make a few extra bucks nowadays.

Made the priciest non-system acquisition of my collection today. As I stated in another thread, I had the opportunity to pick up Steel Battalion for the X-box, and I went and did it. Priced at $180.00 used at a local GameStop, I was able to use both my discount card and the additional 10% off coupon in this month's Game Informer to knock $34 off the top. After tax it came in at just over $150. The manager there is a great guy and always lets me know when interesting things are available (thanks Cory!).

It's in great shape, and complete...including all paperwork and packaging materials. It even has the original shipping carton from Capcom (you can just make out the SB logo in the lower right corner of the box in the photo:

I'll be doing some ebaying to plug the hole in the bank account, but I think it was worth it (this thing is really cool!). So now I've got Steel Battalion, the Halo I got on Black Friday, and all the BlockBuster Outlaw exclusives...the only thing I need now is an X-box! Oh well, one thing at a time. LOL

P.S. Does anyone recall how to properly pack all of this stuff in the box, or is there a diagram somewhere that shows how? I can fit it all in there, but I'm not using the spaces and cutouts in the 3 filler boxes correctly, so there must be a better way to do it.

Well i didn't acquire anything this week but i am in the midst of try to buy this awesome (professionally done) Spannel Channel 5 drawing with Ulala, Evila, Jaguar, and Pudding on it. i saw it on the wall a this bubble tea cafe and it had a little for sale sticker on the frame and a card right under it. nowi have to call. wish me luck :D

I'm following Achika's steps and should receive my brand-new pearl pink JP GBA SP. Got Activision Anthology (GBA) from Ebay last week (the seller is really honest, but she forgot to include the game with the box and manual; she sent the game the day I told her about it and it got here Friday).

Am about to get from ebay sellers: Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance (GCN), Aztec Adventure and Mickey in Castle of Illusion for SMS.

Fun, fun times in perspective, but I'm mostly looking forward to the GBA SP. I've been missing having one quite badly over the last few days.
