I notice some import shops selling japanese Saturn games with "Red Label" attached to them. I thought I noticed a theme, thinking these were 'adult' titles, but some of the games don't seem to be adult at all. I have Gals Panic SS which is a red label game and playing it I didn't seem to notice any real adult matter. Sure, you get to look at the cute anime girl after a level but there's no nudity.

so is there something I'm missing here? I noticed the game "Arcana Strikes" which seems cool (Card-RPG, look in my sig) but it's a "Red Label". I just want to know for certain before the fiancee get's all "Why are you looking at cartoon porn?"

Sometimes it can be for adult themes or subject matter, not just nudity. Most of the games I've played had some form of nudity. Heck even a Tenchi Muyo! fan disc has the dreaded red label. I'll do some checking on that game to see why it has one. The game "Death Throttle" has killing and blood, but no nudity and it's a red game too.

well, it's a BIG misconception that red and yellow label games are chock full o' tits and ass and sex and whatever. while japan has no puritanical hang ups about sex and violence in some aspects of its entertainment, they don't want young kids walking out of game shops with porn or excessively violent games. yellow label games will have suggestive sexual content/near nudity and maybe some bra/panties stuff and/or blood/violence/disturbing images (doom, tokyo shadow, bakuretsu hunter r, dokoku...shoshite, darkseed, people of nomura hospital, wangan dead heat real + arrange), while red label games have topless anime or real gals nude (gal jam, yakyuen special, etc...)

some sexy games are green labels because they have no nudity (girls in motion), and there's at least one game (virtua photo studio) that has no label, but a "no sale to ages under 18" label on front.

btw, death throttle is actually gametek's quarantine, originally released for the 3DO and PC...
