sup just curious how many members have considered or even bought one of these things for the new silent scope collection...

I have and I opened it up...although it's a bit hokey looking (damn you american laws against realistic toy guns) it feels really good.

since silent scope collection isn't out yet the only games that support it is
house of the dead 3
and possibly starsky and hutch....

so anyone got any impressions?

That's probably the coolest accessory I'll never buy. I might wait till it drops in price to something more comfy and hopefully SSC will drop that low around the same time.....

I'd buy it at around $20...but other than that....forget it.

I only glanced at it in the store, if I buy a gun on xbox, that'll be the one, but I can't justify the expense at this point in time.

I snagged one, played some House of the Dead III with it. Not a bad gun at all. I just want to try the auto zooming feature that works with Silent Scope Complete.

If history serves as a guideline for the future, this will be a tough accessory to get later on down the road. Usually, peripherals that were made specifically for one game become scarce after the game has been out for a while---much like the Samba de Amigo maracas.

However, since this gun can be converted into a smaller blaster and it works with other light gun games (all 2 of them), I could just be talking out of my ass. :)

Okay... HOW is this going to work with Silent Scope? The aiming accuracy is far greater than any detail a light gun could read from a television. Have they reworked the game mechanics to make it function with a light gun? Hell, even the arcade version just uses a giant analog joystick that looks like a gun. I'll stick to my PS2 + USB mouse for Silent Scope. Heh.

This gun kicks much ass! I played all the way through House of the Dead 3 with it at my work (GameStop). I LOVE this gun and as soon as I get some more money, I am buying one. The gun even as a kick back feature like the arcade. I can't wait for Silent Scope complete :D :D :D

I think it looks kick ass! I'm picking one up as soon as I can.

I think its cool. Really really cool. But I have yet to buy an arcade stick for my gamecube and a driving wheel for my ps2.

When you look through the scope the screen zooms in on the area where your scope is. Hopefully then with the zoomed in view the gun will be accurate enough. This is just gimmicky enough for me to want to pick up, but I'm currently playing on a rear projection TV, and looking to go to a front projection setup (100" screen), so I guess light gun games are out.

A decent look at the gun and some gameplay videos can be found at http://www.gameinformer.com/News/Story/200401/N04.0119.1843.05329.htm

I've seen this in the store...I just HATE how it looks. It's like a space rifle or something. That's straying me away from it, but if I find one cheap enough I suppose I will grab it up. But definately not at 49.99...not to mention I don't like Silent Scope. :o

I would like to get one. I also don't like the green. I will just take it apart and paint it black. Like the Rollin' Stones.

I paid $50 a piece for Dreamcast guns and $39.99 for HOTD2 ...imagine how dumb I feel now....plus that game sucked.

BUT, I probably would pay $30-35 for one of these bad boys

Wow. This hasn't been touched for a year. To the day. wow... :bday:

ANYWAY -

I just picked up the Silent Scope Light Rifle, and I CAN'T USE IT YET! According to Pelican's troubleshooting email, the rifle isn't completely compatable with older Xbox systems (mine is from 2002). They said that an extention on the cord will cure the problem (which they are sending me for FREE)! Yay!

ANYWAY -

Two questions. One, to anyone else here who has had an extention sent to them... How long did it take? Two, aside from Silent Scope Complete and House of the Dead III, are there any other light gun compatable games currently out or coming out (can't find anything else on the net about this)?

Starsky & Hutch is the only other game. I wouldn't worry about getting it unless you play two-player co-op alot. If so, then get a steering wheel too.

Oh. That explains why I couldn't really find anything.

Question three... With an adaptor, do you think the light gun would work across other systems?
