I just found an AC adapter for mine this week so I plugged it back in and gave it a go. Worked fine for the first few days but when I plugged it in this morning to finish off Puzzle Bomber, I get a bunch of graphical garbage. Looks kinda like static and slowly creeps into the screen as the game goes on. Tried another game and got the same effect. Is it the screen going out or is it the cart port that needs cleaned or something?

I've had issues with Virtual Boy video, also. My VB just doesn't display video at all; I'll have to open it up the next chance I get.

That's the most common problem with Virtual Boys... it's actually caused by the cable that goes from the motherboard to the LED board... the problem is that there's no connector on the LED board side, so when it comes loose, you have to find a way to get it stuck back down. Electrical tape usually will hold it, either tape the connector back down to the LED board, or tape the cable down to the plastic eyepiece.

I really need to make a how-to on this for my site, since this is so common.

Anyway to open the console? Sylentwulfs screwdriver set doesn't fit.

From the looks of his web site, a spanner bit would work fine. If you purchased the kit from Sylentwulf, I believe you should have one.

By the way, you have a very interesting site, DogP. It's now in my list of favorites, and it seems familiar. Were you by chance a forerunner with a Virtual Boy petition?

Oh, it fits the screws, but I can't get it deep enough to catch the ones that are deeper in.

I "delicately" drilled their heads off and replaced them with a more usable type. Take that V'boy!! :P LOL

Yeah, you can't get the 4 deepest screws with the normal driver... what I did (and have instructions for on my site) is to take an old flathead screwdriver and make a notch in the middle of it.

Thanks for the compliments on the site § Gideon §. I've been a VB'er for a long time, although I have only had my site up for 3-4 years (and un-updated for too long :( ). I don't think I'm the one that you're thinking of though, although I did sign the petition, I think you might be talking about David Tucker ( http://dana.ucc.nau.edu/~dbt/VBMain.html ).
