I think I'm going to scream.

This is the first full priced game I've bought in months, Iget it home, peel off the shrink-wrapping, put it in my X-box, sit down with my brother, and begin to play.

For a while all is well. W get to the Gobin Treasury, find the caravan owner and agree to take her back to the Villiage. The loading screen comes up and.... nothing. The fire around the words "loading" still animates, but nothing happens.
I tried it a few times with the same effect.
So we start from the begining again and get to the same point and exactly the same thing happens.

Has anyone else had this happen, and more importantly, does anyone know how to fix it? If not, it's looking like a bit of a trek back to the place I got it for me.

My buddy is roughly 3 hours from the finish with no problems. Gotta be the disc. I had one lock-up when we played multi-player, but we re-loaded with no trouble.

ya it's gotta be the disk. my BGII froze up on me at one point during gameplay. so i took the game out to look at it and i noticed the disk had a weird black dust all over it. so i cleaned it off and i haven't had any problems since. i would return the game and get a new one.

errr...try cleaning the lens, maybe (use a cd-based lens cleaning disc)? games don't emit "weird black dust" or lock up for no reason. it could also be the thompson drive (if you own an older xbox)...
