Blackthorne. On a family vacation, played it in a hotel running the Super Nintendo Gateway System service.
Parents didn't care at all.

My first notably violent game was Mortal Kombat: Deception on the GC. A friend bought it when it was new and let me borrow it, but it might as well have been mine because I played it way more than he did.
I checked out the earlier MKs later on, and they're pretty enjoyable too.

ha... Interesting question. Umm if just on the theory of shooting something and blowing it up. Then probably Combat for the atari 2600 back in 198 something lol

Does Comix Zone count? More than Super Mario Bros, anyway.
I never was super good at Comix Zone (playing on PC) but it sure was interesting.
Picked up Resident Evil Director's Cut, it mysteriously got sent back - to this day I still haven't played any version of the original game (just the remake).

Technically, my first would be Wizardry for NES. Example: "FIGHTER 1 is decapitated" My grandma was like "where the heck did you learn such a gruesome term at your age?"

Wolfenstein 3D was the first violent game I was allowed to play. My mom got hooked on it, so she couldn't very well tell me I couldn't play. Shortly after that, I discovered the game Biomenace, which I still love. Goldeneye 007 was another favorite.

Road Rash 3 on Genesis.
If that doesnt count as violent then probably Streets of Rage on genesis.
Also Doom on PC

the most violent games I can remember playing were Doom, Doom 2 and Robocop vs Terminator on genesis

It was either Double Dragon or Renegade. Watching those games as a kid reminded me of the rated R action pictures at the time.
