Silent Hill 1 is still imoa the best game in its respective series, it is still the most frightning and down right scary game ever created..so far!
Im hoping for a re-make or a complete overhaul from Konami with graphics on-par with SH4.
I have always loved the Panzer Dragoon series (especially Panzer Dragoon saga wich is my fav RPG!) but as far as the shooters in the series goes I have to go with PANZER DRAGOON ORTA hey it even includes the original, were can you go wrong with that? Now for the Zelda series I still think the first LEGEND OF ZELDA n.e.s. has more personality and charm in it than any current game series and is still the best of all the Zelda games also just to start a little controversy I think the SNES ver is Highly overated, just my opinion though :)
So what are your FAVORITE GAMES in your FAVORITE VIDEO GAME SERIES?
Any systems new or old?

Hmm...in the Zelda series, my favorite would probably be Ocarina of Time, maybe Majora's Mask. Before anybody "graces" this topic with a rebuttal of that comment, may I suggest SHUT YER MOUTH! =P
Phantasy Star IV is awesome. I want to see what the newest game in the series (Card Battle, PSO 3) is going to be like. Hopefully there will be more Phantasy Star games eventually...I'm still playing PSO Ep. 1&2 offline, though :)
Shinobi...hard to say there; Revenge of Shinobi is great but I do like Shinobi 3 a good deal, and the original arcade game is greatness. I haven't tried out the PS2 game (though I own a copy) but I hear the newest one (Kuniochi/Nightshade) will be vastly improved over that one.
Castlevania, of course...the original N64 game, no matter what anybody says, were the right difficulty level for me, and I enjoyed them a good deal. The quirks aren't gameplay killers, and any dedicated player will find a way around them. Super CV4 is greatness, Rondo as well, and I'm a fan of the GB title Belmont's Revenge, the GBA title CotM (Circle of the Moon), but Aria of Sorrow is one of my favorite games.
What else...the Sonic games are starting to grow on me. Who knows, I might end up buying Mario and even...maybe...MegaMan games yet!
Wow, that's a lot of stuff nobody really cares about, but I guess I'll post it anyways since I've come this far :o

The game I like best out of the Zelda series (which I like them ALL, except for Wind Waker kind of) is of course Ocarina of Time. (Probably my most favorite game of all time).
Out of the Mario series it's Mario 64, then smb 3.
Of of all the Contra's if the very first nes contra.
Sonic Series - Sonic Heroes, then sonic 3.

I liked Super C best of all the contras.
Zelda 2 was my favorite of that series (yeah I know I'm th only one).
The best Mario game is EASILY Mario Paint... just kidding, I like Mario 3 best, but I havent played 64 or Sunshine.
Streets of Rage 2 is my favorite in that series.
.... and now my brain is tired.

MEGA MAN 3!!!!!!!!
HAH! You thought I'd say 2, right? 2 is great, but I think 3 marked the highest point in the series. SHADOW MAN FOREVER!!!!!!

I gotta talk about Castlevania... as far as quality and overall presentation goes, my vote is cast for Symphony of the Night. Sentimentally, my fave will forever be Castlevania III. But I don't really think there's a bad game in the series. I even got mild enjoyment out of the Castlevania Adventure! (not in my top 10 CV games, BTW) :D

Chrono Trigger. I haven't played CC, but it doesn't matter--CT will still dominate.
Final Fantasy 6. Best graphics on a 2d FF. II'm currently going through 10... it's really good, but I hate some of the HUMONGOUS open areas (the desert comes to mind) where you're in bazillions of random battles.
Kingdom Hearts. I LOVE this'n too. Will KH2 beat it? I hope so.
Super Mario RPG: LotSS. I admit, Paper Mario was great, but I don't consider to be the true "Mario RPG 2" as it was in Japan. And M&L:SS... GREAT game... but the original still owns because of Geno.

My favorite game series of all time is the Nekketsu Kunio series.
My favorite game in that series is Ganbare Dunk Heroes.

My favorite game series of all time by quite some way is the Tex Murphy series. Favorite game from that is probably... Under A Killing Moon. The Pandora Directive is an all-round better game, but UAKM has more quirky comedy and a special sentimental place in my heart :)

Favorite series: Wipeout
Favorite game in series: Wip3out
First (sort of...) to feature analog control, inventive level design and the best soundtrack of the lot. Plus it had a killer TV spot in the day.

Castlevania : Castlevania 3
Zelda: original
Contra: Hard Corps
Jet Set Radio: JSR Future

Jet Set Radio. The Japanese game before it became Jet Grind Radio and then De La Jet Set Radio back in Japan. Jet Set Radio Future is an amazing game, but it was the original that broke grounds. Even if you didn't like dreamcast at the time and know anything about video games, you knew about jet set radio even before its american debut.
Sonic: Sonic Adventure. Let's face it, Sonic 3D blast doesn't completely count as a 3D sonic game, and Sonic R, I am not even going to conitnue with that game. SA was the first true 3D sonic game (with polygons and everything). It was the first game in my DC collection, and it will be my last. SA2 didn't do anything new, just like JSR: F. Some of those cut scenes were so amazing, that I can still go back and watch them while ocmparing them to high end ps2 cut scenes.
Clayfighter: Let's face it, everybody knows that the original is the best. Every title after that is just a mock-up of it. Not even the Genesis version could hold the original SNES version.
Final Fantasy: You all will probably think I am going to say 10, well guess what, I am. I have tried other ff games, but none of them grabbed me and forced me to play them like 10 did. it is, to this day, the only rpg that has pulled me into gameplay until i finished it
Mario: Mario 64. enough said
Tomb Raider: Nude Raider. I never even played it, but the pics of it don't look too bad.
