Sega Nomad blue line problem

After my success with finding the problem to my NES, I was hoping that someone here could help me fix my nomad! I purchased it off some bum on e-bay and to my horror found there was a large blue line running through the screen when it powered on! Also, it takes many times to get the games to actually start, and when they do, it often freezes. Thanks in advance!

It sometimes takes a while for my own Nomad to get working. I think what you've got is a bad cart connection there; the Nomad loses contact pretty easily.

The blue line sounds like a defect in the screen or a connection having worked loose over time :/

I have no idea about fixing the screen (I see "replacement screens" on eBay quite often, but I believe that's just for the plastic cover over the actual screen), but I've been using my Nomad with TVs; get a set of stereo A/V cords and you should be able to play it just fine on any TV, most anywhere the Nomad could play anyways, on a better screen besides :D

The cart bit...well, I've had days (or is it carts?) that made me turn it on and off about four-six times, and other times it works just fine right away. I wouldn't know if a new Nomad has problems with the cartridge losing contact (you'd never know it except that the game has suddenly crashed), but it's a related issue.

Just be nice to that baby, and just like babies, don't shake it at all! There may not be an easy way to get new connectors for the Nomad, but this should help somewhat.
