That'd be nice, but I wouldn't want to pay $1000 for a trophy and sign that doesn't have my name on it. :D

I'd like to see what's on that tape. It's a shame that the bidding starts so high.

keep in mind, however, that these do go over 4,000 sometimes.

Too bad she doesn't have a close up of the cart (looks like the top right edge on the end label is peeling up slightly), but it does have a nice low serial # though (one of the lowest I have seen). Pretty cool trophy and signage. I bet it would hit at least $1700 to $2000 with the extras, but $2500 might be a tough sell.

For that kind of cash, I'm sure she could afford to take another photo upon request :)

Yeah, those other items are neat, but I don't see them having much collectability other than to the person that won them. And if I'm wrong, well, hey! Maybe someday someone will want to buy my PhillyClassic door pass/cart! *lol*

I've never seen a gray one crack 2k. At $2500 the buyer would be paying about a thousand dollars for a trophy, video, and someone else's name in big bold letters.

It IS a very nice auction -- I'm not sure how much the gray carts go for, but you can tack on a few hundred more for the extra stuff. I would have 2500 as the BIN and start bidding at 1500.

That thing is cool. But is really worth it to give up something like that?

How much does just the grey cart go for? 1500-2000? I don't think I have seen it go higher then that.

Ding ding. I wouldn't want to display this stuff, and have everyone ask me who the hell Colleen Cardas is. Greys usually go for $1000 to $1500 depending on condition. I'd only pay $1000 for the Mario trophy the 3 bracket winners got (one of which was Thor Aackerlund). Now THAT'd be cool. Some dinky science fair trophy just isn't worth $1000.

Not to us, no. But remember...that's a lot of money, and if this person isn't a collector why does she really care? Yeah, she used to be able to play games good enough to win a trophy, but now, that 2500.00 is gleaming more than the trophy and cart is.

Id love to have it!

Well, the price is pretty Ludacris.

Sorry, I'll go away now.

...

But I bet you could swoop in with an offer of $1,500, citing Jeff D's NWC cart sale, and get all that stuff.

Times like this, I wish I had $1,500. ;)

This thread is gold :)

I should dig around and find my mario trophy and take some close pics of it. It's really weird actually, it's not all smooth like you'd think, it's all lumpy .. as if whoever made the original cast used paper-mache to begin with. Heavy sucker too.

They go for much higher now - I just noticed the age on this post! Anyone have the auction cached somewhere? Who the hell revived this thread? :)

I'm not positive, but I am assuming this was an ebay auction for Colleen Cardas's NWC items.

She was the Los Angeles Week 2 winner for the 18 and over group. I beieve she had cart #61. Iirc, her husband competed too.

as cool as the item might be, i'm not about to plunk down a lot of cash for something that doesn't have my name on it. how could i explain to my woman that i spent $$$ on a trophy with another girl's name?

As far as I know, yes, she did. However, I have not interviewed her yet. I've been meaning to, but I haven't gotten in touch with her yet. I have her contact info, but right now I'm juggling a few interviews. I was actually going to contact her next. :)

Well, I did manage to snag the Hartford 12-17 winners trophy cup (that really hurt in the wallet :embarrassed: LOL ). But why have it? It is a piece of history, plain and simple.. What more reason would ya need? :)
