Yet another free stuff story

I was at church a couple weeks ago and a friend says to me, "I have an old Atari I want to get rid of. I heard you're into that stuff." Well, I still don't know how she knew, but I'm glad the word's out! I almost said no because she told me it didn't work and I have enough broken Ataris.... but I came to my senses and said I'd take it.

She came by my house the other day and hands me an Atari 5200 box. I thank her profusely and she leaves. Opening the box I find a 4-port Atari 5200 (in a 2-port box... strange) with all hookups and 2 standard controllers, a bunch of common games, some manuals and overlays, and......

*drum roll*

a Competition Pro joystick!!! :D

Everything but the standard controllers works too! (she probably just didn't know how to hook it up.)

I'm keeping the Comp Pro but everything else is coming to Christian's house in March for trades. .......mmmm trades........... :)

Church, it's not just for eternal salvation anymore, is it? Nice to hear there's actually good stuff to be found there :D

Also nice to hear you were very polite about it. I seriously feel bad when I take something from somebody...I still don't think I've recovered from accepting an old Mac Classic II (that has a dead battery, lol, and more RAM than any website I've seen admits is possible, lol x2) back in 2002 :}
