I picked up a boxed Channel F at a garage sale a few weeks ago. It's the first version with the hard wired controllers, but, these controllers have an extra fire button on the joystick handle. The fire button is red as is the sticker on top of the controller. I already have a Channel F with the standard controllers (they have a gold sticker on top) so I noticed the difference right away.
Upon looking in the system box, I found a receipt from Zircon for 2 Rapid Fire System I Handcontrols and instructions for installing them. I checked the DP guide and didn't see any mention of these so I thought I would post about them.
I know it's only Channel F....but I collect all systems pre-NES and know there are others that might find this interesting too. What's even more interesting is that the receipt is dated May 1983. Who in the hell was still playing Channel F in 1983?! lol
