I have heard over and over that certain 3rd party controllers, as well as 3rd party memory cards and jump packs can harm your Dreamcast--like blow the ports etc. etc.--my question is are these rumors true? If so then which 3rd party hardware should we avoid using? Or are the 3rd party hardware rumors just rumors? O_O

Hardware companies always tend to say that you have to buy first party controllers because if you're using a 3rd party controller on your system and it breaks, it won't be under warranty.
That having been said, there aren't too many times I've ever heard of something breaking in a Dreamcast. I personally use the regular DC controllers, but have multiple memory cards from other companies and they all work fine. I wouldn't worry about it :)

I personally love the MAd CArz DC controllers and have never had a problem. Although Armada wouldn't save to the VMU through it. Small incopatibilities are really all there are to fear that I've ever seen.
