It seems that some guys have managed to find the elusive "Citadel" level in Goldeneye that Rare had previously claimed was not in the final version! Read all about it right here (http://goldeneye.detstar.com/citadelfound/index.asp). Kudos to the Detstar guys for actually managing to find it... sounds like it took a good amount of sleuthing to finally get it.

As mentioned, the level is only a test level, so it's not really finished, and doesn't really work quite properly... Any fun you actually have playing this level will be entirely coincidental. Also, you need to use a Gameshark to actually get there. I don't have a Gameshark myself, anyone tried this?

I have a gameshark, but it's an older version. What model does this require?

Looks like I may have to track down an n64 and this classic again.

This a a true testamony to how timeless this game is. Years later and they are still finding things, hell the fact that they still care is amazing.

Goldeneye was and always will be one of my greatest gaming memories, oh how much time was lost on that game.

Cool.

Let me assure you, and everyone that the code DOES work. I popped Goldeneye in and played for a few minutes and I must say that it would have been quite a good level if it had been put in as a completed level.

I remember reading about this a few years back...I'll have to try it out sometime, but first I need a GameShark (and also S-Vid cables for my GC/64)

Rare denies a lot of things. Go to www.rarewitchproject.com and see what's been found in Banjo-Kazooie, Banjo-Tooie, and Donkey Kong 64.

Stop-N-Swop forever! LOL

That's cool. Kinda like how homebrews are being made for long dead systems like the 2600. Game on!

The Detstar guys are the reason I actually purchased a Gameshark. (gasp!)

The "Beta" stuff they've found is hella cool, and now I must try out this 'Citadel' they're buzzing about.

Doesn't hurt that Goldeneye is one of my top 5 games ever, either. :)

Much cooler than 2600 homebrews...this is a single game, and one of the earlier titles for the system...how often does a game come around that people are still discovering things in so much later? Just about never.

I also see that I can read about some other things in that game. o_O

Yeah, all the crazy stuff in that game makes it seem much bigger than it is. I almost feel there's more stuff in Goldeneye than in the Zelda games, just because of all the rumors, manual inaccuracies, intriguing things in level designs and so on :D

Now if only they could find the All Bonds code LOL
