Couple of questions about the valis series

i bought valis 1 and syd of valis for like 10 dolllars because someone had posted earlier about the game. i thought it was going to be like strider with a japanse schoolgirl instead of a ninja. but the valis 1 game is so slow and there s so many slowdowns im wondering if the genesis cant handle it and its just a bad of the turbografx version or something . its just like a slow platform game.
syd of valis is ok kind of interesting but tottally not what i was expecting. should i just try to seek out the tg-16 version or what?

Well the PC Engine Valis 1 is probably one of the better versions of it. I haven't played the Genesis version on many years but I remember it beening much better than the NES version.

Personally I like the later Valis games more as you can switch between playing as 2 other characters. This only apply to the PC Engine for part 4 as they kind of took that out of the Snes version.
