I have a couple of PCE CDs I burned that work perfectly on the real console, but won't work with MAgic Engine using either of my CD drives. Does anyone have any idea as to why> Both work for a little bit, but then always give a disk read error at the same spot.

While I'm at it, I have a general questio about cuesheets. Can I take cuesheets made for WAVE files, and just cahnge all references to MP3 and burn that way?

Any help is appreciated,
Drew

Read error? That strange. How are you burning the cd's?

They were in cuesheet iso/mp3 format, and I burned them with Fireburner. The cuesheets originally made reference to wave files, and I changed them to MP3 rather than convert the audio since Fireburner supports this. I may try converting the audio and trying it again. It's a bit irritating to say the least.

Hmm, I did this before with a few ISO/MP3 games and it always worked fine with Magic Engine. What type of error do you get and at what point in the emulation?

I'll try them again tonight or tomorrow and try to get a screen capture of te error. On both they occur after the title screen and even some intro movie stuff, but before I can actualy play anything.

Alright, when the problem happens, the emu goes back to the Magic Engine Logo (as if you hit excape) with the words disc read error underneath it in blue. I tried reburning the CD and now it works great, that's a little strange, but I'll take it. It seems Magic Engine is pickier than the real deal. Now I'm getting weird results with sound effects disappearing, but I'm assuming that's the emulation at work rather than a faulty CD.

I have the exact oppisite problem. Everything works on Magic Engine and Macross 2036 and Dracula-X only worked twice before giving up on my Duo-r!!!

 @_@

i burnt dracula-x from German site as well as disc copy of original. Both works just fine on Duo and ME. However with Macross 2036 the burnt copy just doesn't work? :) It does on Duo but not with ME.

I sue ME mainly as it's convenient rather than hooking Duo to TV which I normally put Saturn on.

cheers

All consoles are touchier than CD-ROM drives when it comes to reading burned discs, usually. Try a different type of blanks, or a slower burning speed.
